He served his country honorably in the US Army during WW II. He retired from 33 years of service with IBM Corporation.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Millicent. His children: Phillip Wisecup, David Wisecup, Nancy Palumbo, Norma Darst, Kathy Groff and Becky Huffman, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Eight brothers and sisters also survive him.

Margaret Louise (Haskell) Struble, age 92, of Fort Gratiot, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Regency on the Lake nursing home.

She was born April 16, 1921, in Petoskey, Mich., the daughter of Malcolm and Bessie Haskell. She was a graduate of Anchor Bay Bible Institute in New Baltimore, Mich., at the Bethel Temple Church. She graduated in 1943 in ministerial studies, and then in 1946 in missionary nursing. She married Reuben Struble on Oct. 15, 1948. She was happiest when serving others but had many passions in life including baking, quilting, crocheting and many others crafts.

She is survived by her eight children, Blanche (John) Stoutmeyer, Roy (Mary) Struble, Lucy Smith, Harold (Cheryl) Struble, James (Lynne) Struble, William (Shirley) Struble, Tim (Julie) Struble and Jenny (Bill) Hauver; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Albin (Barney) Selan; daughter, Gale Miler, and her children, Shawn and Jennifer Hapanowicz; great- granddaughters, Madeleine, Rachel and Hannan; a son, Lawrence Miller; and his childiren, Lawrence J. Miller, Kelli Thomas and Michael Miller; great- grandchildren, DyAnna , Alexandria, Isaiah and Tedla. Her son, William Miller, predeceased her, and she is survived by his children, Matthew and Audrey; along with her great-grandchildren, Eve and Jane Miller and Sarah Connor.

Dean A. Flansburg, 76, of 273 Kelly Road, Cold Brook, died on September 22, 2004 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer, where he was admitted earlier in the day. Mr. Flansburg was born on February 27, 1928 in Hinckley, a son of the late Carl Flansburg and Bertha (Haskell) Kelley.

He received his education in the Poland School District and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during WWII. On November 16, 1948, he was united in marriage with the former Norma Matthews. Dean previously owned and operated Pat's Inn in Poland for several years. He had a deep admiration for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors besides his wife of 55 years, Norma, include two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Janis Flansburg, and Buck and Cheryl Flansburg, all of Newport; nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

In accordance with Dean's wishes, services will be private at the convenience of his family with no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport. Norma Mary Matthews

Norma M. Flansburg, 83, of Willoughby Hall, Newport, and formerly of the Town of Ohio, died on September 20, 2009, at the Masonic Care Community, Utica.Mrs. Flansburg was born on January 24, 1926, in Toronto, Canada, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Carnahan) Matthews.

She graduated from Holland Patent High School in 1944 and was united in marriage with Dean A. Flansburg on November 16, 1948.  The couple owned and operated the former Pat's Inn in Poland, and Norma later served as Town of Ohio Assessor for 16 years.  Dean died on September 22, 2004.  Norma was a member of the Singing Hills Seniors in Barneveld and was an avid bowler.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Janis Flansburg and Buck and Cheryl Flansburg, all of Newport; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Scott, on July 22, 2002.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Poland, on Friday at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Dwayne A. Durand, Pastor of the Kuyahoora Community Church, will officiate. There are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to the Singing Hills Seniors, P.O. Box 103, Prospect, NY 13435.
