Ernest Arthur Judson Sr., 96, of Masonic Avenue, formerly of Milford, died Feb. 6. He was the widower of Charlotte Jacobs Judson.

He formerly worked in the purchasing department of Perkin Elmer in Norwalk.

He leaves sons Ernest Arthur Judson Jr. of Milford and Arthur Frederick Judson of Acworth, Ga.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a sister, Gertrude May MacDonald; and a brother, Phillip William Judson.

Born in Seattle, Mr. Haskell had lived in Tacoma four years. He was a retired Boeing carpenter and a Navy veteran.

Survivors include a brother, Hubert Haskell of Bell Flower, Calif.

BELLEVUE--Abram G. "Brom" Btler, 96, a retired Bellevue businessman and former village official, died Saturday in Marshall Manor, where he had been a patient one year.

He was born in Chicago and came to Bellevue with his family as a child. He first was employed by the former John York Store on Main Street and then purchased the Newton Dry Goods Store, which he operated under the Butler name for 26 years.

In 1944 he purchased the Bellevue Cooperative Elevator, which still is operated by his sons.
He formerly served on the Bellevue Village Board for a total of 16 years and was a member of the Bellevue Board of Education for 12 years.

He was a life member of Bellevue Lodge 83 F&AM and of the Bellevue Chapter OES.

He was a charter member of the Bellevue Improvement Club, which was organized after the Bellevue fire of 1911 when his and many others' business firms were burned. All the firms on Main Street that were destroyed were rebuilt under the direction of the club.

He was a former member of the Bellevue Lions Club, Bellevue Chamber of Commerce and was active in the Bellevue United Methodist Church.

In 1975 he received a gold cane from the Bellevue Commercial Club as the oldest man in Bellevue Township.

His wife, the former Bessie E. Hollenbeck, died in 1963.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Helen) Gates of Bellevue; sons, Robert E. Butler of Bellevue and Charles M. of Olivet; nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

BELLEVUE--Mrs. Bessie Butler, 81, wife of A. G. Butler, died last midnight in a Charlotte Nursing home after an extended illness.

The family residence is on E. Capital Ave. Mrs. Butler was the daughter of Thomas and Iva (Ovenshire) Hollenbeck, and was a native of Bellevue, as well as a lifetime resident.

She and Abram G. Butler were married Nov. 2, 1904.

She was a member of the Bellevue Methodist Church, a life member of the Order of Eastern Star in which she held membership for more than 60 years, and was a former member of the Twentieth Club and the Our Own Pleasure Club.

Mrs. Butler is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Russell (Helen) Gates; two sons, Charles and Robert Butler; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of Bellevue; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Hollenbeck of Battle Creek and Mrs. Eliza Rissberger of Rochester, N.Y.

Robert Edwin Butler, age 95, died June 28, 2014.

Mr. Butler was born May 20, 1919 to Abram G. and Bessie (Hollenbeck) Butler. He graduated in 1937 from Bellevue High School. He became head miller at the Bluebird Flour Mill in 1939, and was named Michigan's youngest miller by the American Millers Association.

In February 1941, he enlisted in the 119th Field Artillery in Charlotte, one of the earliest National Guard units called into active duty. He spent a year in the Aleutian area, returned to the United States to attend Officer Candidate School at Ft. Sill, where he earned a commission in field artillery. He later served with the 517th Field Artillery on Luzon P. I. He was relieved of active duty in February of 1946. With his brother, Charles, they owned and operated the Bellevue Milling Company, retiring in 1978.

Bob married Helen Everett on December 24, 1947. They wintered in Leesburg, FL for 25 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Arlene L. (Butler) Endsley of Bellevue; daughter-in-law, Susan (Martens) Butler of Nashville; five grandchildren, Lisa Flower of Nashville, Jeff Butler of Nashville Emily Mater of Nashville, Jamie Endsley of Bellevue, and Joel Butler of Nashville; and 10 greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 2008.

Helen Ona Butler, 79, died February 19, 2008 in Nashville, MI. Mrs. Butler was born May 7, 1928 in Nahsville, MI the daughter of Orl and Marie Sophia (Peterson) Everett.

Mrs. Butler worked for Kellogg's for 28 years. She enjoyed crocheting, baking cookies and doing for others. Mrs. Butler and her husband enjoyed going to Leesburg, Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Arlene Endsley of Bellevue; son, Alvin (Susie) Butler of Nashville; grandchildren, Lisa, Jeff, Jamie, Emily and Joel; and 9 great-grandchildren.
