Elizabeth (Betty) LeBaron died on February 24, 2006 at Gulf Health Care in Galveston, Texas. She was 98 years old.

Mrs. LeBaron was born to the Rev. August T. Huber and Estella Hughes Huber on November 17, 1907 in the manse of the Ebeneezer Presbyterian Church just south of Macomb, Illinois.

On November 28, 1928 she married Olin William LeBaron, who preceded her in death in 1978.

Mrs. LeBaron, her husband and youngest daughter, Susan, moved to San Antonio from Galveston in 1951. Mr. LeBaron was Director of the San Antonio Community Welfare Council for almost 20 years. In 1970 the LeBarons moved to Austin and then to Angleton, Texas. In 1977 they moved back to Galveston County. Mrs. LeBaron was instrumental in developing the fledgling Hitchcock Public Library, filling the office of Treasurer for many years. She was also a faithful member of the quilting group at the First United Methodist Church of LaMarque.

Mrs. LeBaron is survived by three daughters; Jeanne Powell of Galveston, Priscilla Bevins and husband Robert of Columbia, Missouri, and Susan LeBaron and husband Peter Bridge of Austin, Texas, grandchildren David Gaston, Elaine Gaston and husband James Ross, Colleen Bevins and husband Sea Stipe and Brian Bevins and wife Lisa; great-grandson John Fisher and wife Christi; and great-great-granddaughter Kaylea Elizabeth; and beloved friend Sally Kipketer.

Ira Milton LeBaron, 85, Port Charlotte, died June 15, 1997.

He was born July 20, 1911, in Taunton, Mass., and came to Florida eight years ago from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. He recently resided in Port Charlotte. A metallurgist who earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Syracuse University in 1933 and a master's degree in electrochemistry from Rhode Island University in 1935, he earned his doctorate in engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1941.

As a research metallurgist, he developed high-strength aluminums for Aluminum Company of America and later became director of research at the International Minerals and Chemicals Corp. In 1962 he joined Texas Instruments Corp., where he became general director, Deutschland, and retired in 1979. He had 56 patents in the metallurgical and chemical fields and authored numerous publications in those fields. He was a member of the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Fort Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Fort Myers.

Dorothy Fitting LeBaron Walters, 82, died peacefully at her home in Fort Myers on December 5, 2000. She was the wife of Dr. William Walters.

Mrs. Walters was born on March 15, 1918 to John and Lucy (Grambart) Westhead. Mrs. Walters was active her entire life fighting for social justice. She was president of the League of Women Voters in Plainfield, NJ for many years, as well as being a leader in efforts there to combat racial segregation and red-lining.

During World War II she worked for Vice Admiral Donald Gibson of the British Royal Navy in Jacksonville, FL. After the war Mrs. Walters held a number of positions as a fund raiser, among them with the Boy Scouts of America, the Somerset County, NJ Community Chest. She also worked for Project Stride in New York City, a federally funded program designed to train and place people in living wage jobs.

Mrs. Walters was an art enthusiast all her life and with her friends, artists Suzanne Shefield and Riva Helfond, founded a number of art associations in New Jersey.

During the last years of her life she had the opportunity to visit her friend, Sir Donald Gibson in England; to cruise the Caribbean with her husband, Dr. Walters; attend her granddaughter Lauren Fitting's high school graduation in Basking Ridge, NJ; and visit her sister Marion Sherry in Norman, OK.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Walters is survived by a sister, Marion Sherry; a brother-in-law, Irwin Curlis of Cooperstown, NY; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Patricia Fitting of Basking Ridge, NJ; a daughter, The Rev. Wendy Fitting of Gloucester, MA; granddaughters, Lauren Fitting of Basking Ridge, NJ, and Melinda Fitting of Neshanic, NJ, and a great-granddaughter, Briana, also of Neshanic.

She is also survived by Dr. Walter's children, Kathy Marry of Michigan and William Walters, Jr. of Indiana, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Walters was predeceased by her husband Milton LeBaron, by her sister, Virginia Curlis of Cooperstown, NY, and by her brother-in-law, Colonel Roy Sherry of Norman, OK.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Blodgett, 74, of 444 University Place, wife of the Rev., Francis B. Blodgett, priest emeritus of the Cathedral of St. Paul (Episcopal) in Erie, Pa., will be at 10a.m. today.

Mrs. Blodgett, a resident of Corpus Christi for two years, died yesterday morning at her home.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Catherine and Betty, both of Corpus Christi; a sister, Mrs. L. L. Callan of New York City, and a brother, R. F. Cove [sic] of Pittsburg, Pa.
