Gail Duchscherer Bastedo worked as a secretary to Charles Arter, president of St. Luke's Medical Center, from 1970 until she retired in 1981.

Mrs. Bastedo, 83, of Parkman Township, died Saturday at Geauga Hospital in Claridon Township.

She was born in Portland, Ore., and earned her bachelor's degree from Wheaton Univerisity in Norton, Mass., in 1937.

She moved to the Cleveland area in 1953 and settled in Parkman Township in 1963. She was a member of Parkman Congregational Church and was active in the Girl Scouts. Mrs. Bastedo enjoyed gardening and needlework.

Survivors include a son, Henry Duchscherer of Parkman Township; daughters, Gail Duchscherer of Parkman and Margaret Schliefert of Cedar Springs, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

Her first husband, Henry G. Duchscherer, died in 1969. Her second husband, Edward H. Bastedo, died in 1991.

Pickens, Nov. 30 - Mrs. Robert Thaddeus Ellett, 46, died Sunday at 5 a.m, in a Greenville hospital after a year of declinung health and several weeks serious illness.

She had lived all her life in Charleston until Sept. 1, when she moved to Pickens. Mrs. Ellett was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion Charleston.

Surving are her husband, Robert Thaddeus Ellett II, Pickend; one son, Robert III, Picjens; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brewster Prentiss, Charleston; one sister, Miss Edith Otis Prentiss, Charleston; one brother, Charles B. Prentiss Jr., Charleston.

Augustus H. Hayden IV Portsmouth - A memorial service for Augustus "Gus" H. Hayden IV of Portsmouth Va., will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2:30 p.m., at First Lutheran Church, 1301 Colley Ave, Norfolk, VA 23517. A reception follows.

Gus was born in Columbia, S.C., April 2, 1928 and died April 2, 2012 in Norfolk.

He was the beloved husband of Lynn Hook Hayden for 62 years, who survives him. He is also survived by their three sons: Augustus (Gus) H. Hayden V, Colonel Mitchell Hayden (Dee), and Jonathan Hayden; grandchildren, Christina Hayden, Marylynn Hayden Omara (Jon), Melissa Hayden Eddings (Nick), and Bryan Hayden; step-grandchildren, Bryan Dreyer and Scott Dreyer; nephews, Charles Hayden and Hartwell Hayden; and nieces, Susan Ryan and Laurie Ann Hooks.

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Thomas Epting Hayden, 79, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church parish hall. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mr. Hayden died Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Dr. Augustus Henry Hayden III and Ada Katherine Epting Hayden.

He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church where he served as Senior Warden. He graduated from Dreher High School and the University of S.C., where he was a member of the ROTC Pistol Team. He was self-employed as a business consultant. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the U.S. Army Reserve and S.C. State Guard, as well as a charter member of Richland Sertoma Club. In addition, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Elizabeth Sykes Hayden; children, Charles Lide Hayden (Gail), James Hartwell Hayden; close family friend, John "Mac" Cooley; grandchildren, Ali Hayden, Jonathan Hayden, Katherine Hayden; stepchildren, Crawford Milling (Kim), Bill Milling (Shondra), Craig Milling (Alecia); stepgrandchildren, Clay, Mark and Belle Milling; brother, Augustus Henry Hayden IV (Lynn); and three nephews.

Frederick D. Seymour, Jr., age 91, passed way on March 31, 2019 in Surprise, Arizona.

Dick was born March 24, 1928 in East Orange, New Jersey to Frederick & Gladys (Hayden) Seymour.

He served in the U.S. Navy and following his military service began a career as a scale model designer in the Architecture and Engineering industry. He came to Wickenburg in 2014 from Colorado.

He is survived by his wife Beatrice of Wickenburg and children: Denise Barrett, Frederick Seymour,III, Marsha Riley, Nina Lavin, and Michael Riley, 10 grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren.

Services for Jack Warren Cleveland, 72, will be at noon Monday at Country Lake Mobile Home Community clubhouse in San Jacinto. Inurnment will be private. McWane Family Funeral Home in Hemet is handling cremation arrangements. He died Wednesday of a stroke at Hemet Valley Medical Center.

Mr. Cleveland, who was born in Los Angeles, lived in San Jacinto for seven years. He was an offset platemaker for Burroughs Corp. in the City of Industry for 43 years. He was a member and past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge No. 1996 in West Covina.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara M.; a son, James W. of Monrovia; a daughter, Kathleen A. Fuller of Calgary, Canada; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
