Albert H. Anderson

Albert H. Anderson, veteran farmer and stove mounter who was a prominent sportsman in this area for years, died Saturday at his home, 530 North Division Street, after a short siege of pneumonia. He was in his 83rd year. He had been ill two weeks.

Mr. Anderson, who operated the Chapman farm for years, was a lifelong member of Cortlandt Lodge 34, Free and Accepted Masons. He had been retired for the past 13 years. He served as custodian at Masonic Temple for three years before poor health terminated his working days.

Born in Nashville, Tenn., he came here in his youth as a stove mounter, and then spent many years as a farm operator in Cortlandtown. He went back to stove mounting later. He was active as a fisherman and hunter, and was popular for the two fine hunting dogs he owned years ago.

Besides his widow, Mary Dunn Anderson, he leaves two nephews Robert H. Brown of Mineola, L. I. and Everett Brown, of Seaside Park, Ore.

Funeral services for Julius Aagaard, 79 years old, pioneer of ... laundry owner ...

Mr. Aagaard died of heart disease Wednesday in his home at 1360 East 47th place. He was born in Haderslev, Danmark, and came to Chicago in 1972. Fifty-six years ago he established his laundry company at 600 Root street, maintaining the business at the same place to his death.

Surviving him are two childen, Arthur H. Aagaard and Mrs. Winifred Parsons.


Edwin Everett Ganun

Edwin E. Ganun, 76, died last week at his home, 43 Marion Ave. A resident of Mount Kisco since 1919, he retired from his own plumbing business 10 years ago.

Mr. Ganun was an elder of Mount Kisco Presbyterian Church and a former president of the Westchester Christian Endeavor Union. He was a veteran of World War I.

He was the husband of the late Ethel Moses Ganun.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Rogers of the home address, Mrs. James Lawrence of Katonah, and Mrs. James Webb of West Nyack; a sister Mrs. Ernest Ryder of Croton Falls, and three grandchildren.

1920 - 2012 HOOSICK FALLS, NY Evelyn F. (Ganun) Rogers, 92, resident of Rogers Avenue, and for the last two years on Johnson Hill Road, has passed peacefully at home on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.

Evelyn was born in Mount Kisco, NY on October 22, 1920, first daughter of Edwin Ganun and Ethel Ganun of Corton Falls, NY. She attended Mount Kisco schools, graduating in 1938. She attended Northfield School for Girls, Northfield, MA.. After finishing Business School of New York she was a private secretary for several years at Readers Digest in Pleasantville, NY. Then for 27 years she was in the financial department of Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco until retirement in 1987.

Evelyn married Clarence Rogers in July 1960 and until his death in 1987, they spent many happy years traveling and enjoying their life together.

She is survived by two sisters, Charlotte G. Lawrence of Katonah and Roberta G. Webb of Hoosick Falls. She was aunt and loving caregiver for many family members, James Lawrence Jr., Randal Lawrence, Adria W. Diel, Betsey R. Ryder, Nancy Lee Lanier, Dorinda L. Violonte, Christine Kelly Mitchell, Colette L. Nichols, Dillion and Shane Diel and their spouses and children.

PARTRIDGE, EDWIN L. (PAT), Born August 15, 1916, called home July 2, 2005 Devoted Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Friend.

Preceded in death by the love of his life, Reubine Partridge, his wife of 54 years.

He will be deeply missed by daughters, Patricia Hall & husband Fred, Janice Leger & husband Richard; son Steven Partridge & wife Perri; granddaughters, Stephanie Crocker & husband Jeffrey, Lindsay Leger, Emily Partridge; grandsons, Brandon Hall & wife Teresa, Brenton Hall and Eliot Partridge; great granddaughter Bailey Crocker; great grandsons, Brooks Crocker & Kody Hall; brother Hugh Partridge; sisters, Ethel Gahn & Raymona Gauthier; brother, Melvin Wright "Pat" as he was known to his many friends, was a proud veteran of W.W.II. serving in Greenland and later Camp Fannin, Texas, training troops for D Day.

He was a key organizer for the Camp Fannin Reunion Association, past Master and active member of Edwin J. Kiest Masonic Lodge, tireless worker for Reinhardt Elementary, feeding the children lunches and leading a drug education and intervention effort with the faculty and Dallas Sheriff's Department. He was a gifted mechanic, having worked 35 years with Ford Motor Company in Dallas before retiring in the air conditioning business in 1980. He was a born "tinkerer", often disassembling things just to see how they worked, and making or repairing things for his children and grandchildren. He possessed an easy gift of conversation, never seeing a stranger, only friends as yet announced.

We love you, Dad, Pap Paw, Defender, Teacher, ScoutMaster, Collector, Story Teller, Prankster....we'll keep the light burning.

Hugh L. Partridge, 89, of Danville, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at the Danville Care Center

He was born May 3, 1918 in Dennison, Iowa, the second of four sons of Roy Harper and Edith Newberry Partridge.

On October 9, 1948 he married Betty June Edwards in Ft. Madison. She died February 12. 1996.

He attended country school in Charter Oak, Iowa. He served in the Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star with combat V attachment. Mr. Partridge was a member of the VFW Post 7641. He was a very active member of the Danville First Baptist Church, serving as Deacon and in numerous other offices.

Mr. Partridge owned and operated the Pro Gas Service in Danville for 37 years. He was an active member of the Danville Fire Department for 23 years and an honorary member for 30 years. He was one of the first members to become an EMT. He served on the Danville City Council. He was co-founder of the Fort Madison rodeo and a member of the Fort Madison Chamber of Commerce. Along with Everett Miller and Marvin Watts, Mr. Partridge organized the first summer Little League in Danville. He helped build the Forest Lake Baptist Camp south of Ottumwa. He enjoyed woodworking, camping with his family, visiting with the neighborhood children, and collecting canes. He was an avid gardener.

Mr. Partridge is survived by two sons, Jerry (Mary Ann) Partridge of Fairfield and Terry (Beth) Partridge of St. Charles, Illinois; one daughter, Sherry (Paul) Drinkall of Danville; seven grandchildren and one great -granddaughter. He is also survived by two half-sisters, Ethel (Jim) Ghan of Springfield, Missouri and Ramona (Armond) Gauthier of Kansas City, Missouri; one half-brother, Melvin (Carol) Wright of Three Hills, Alberta, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one grandson, Aaron, and three brothers Paul, LeRoy, and Don.

Donald is survived by his wife, Charline; four children: Larry Dean Partridge, Gary Syjansky and wife Penny, Leona Smith and husband J.D., and Kelvin Syjansky and wife Beverly; a special daughter, Linda Skiles and Forrest; numerous grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; three brothers: Edwin, Hugh, and Melvin; and two sisters: Raymona and Ethel.

DONNA, Texas --- Virginia "Ginny" Bridges, 88, died peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004.

She was born in Fremont, Neb., the daughter of H.R. and Irene Partridge. H.R. was the superintendent of schools in Alliance, Neb., for many years and Ginny attended schools in Alliance.

Mrs. Bridges attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and graduated from the University of Nebraska.

She married W. Mason Bridges on June 8, 1936, in Lincoln, Neb.

Her career led her to many parts of the United States. She was executive director of the Kaw Valley Girl Scout Council in Topeka from 1957 to 1978. After retiring, she was employed by the National Girl Scouts of the USA and was assigned to work in Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa and California. Her fulfilling career continued for many years. She had lived in the Valley for more than 20 years. After moving to the Valley, she was a volunteer at the McAllen Museum, the Westlaco Public Library and an active member of the Knapp Medical Center Auxiliary Board.

Ginny will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and a friend to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, W. Mason Bridges, in 1990.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Sutton, of Donna; three grandchildren, Mason Hemphill, Annie Zarcoff and Allen Hemphill; and one great-grandchild, Kyle Hemphill. She also is survived by her brother, Bob Partridge; and several nieces and nephews.

Served in WWII U.S. Army Armored Command. Graduate of University of Nebraska Business College (1950) where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

Married Delores Hope Hollstein in 1950 at Hay Springs, NE, to this union one daughter and two sons were born. Lincoln resident since 1964. Member: St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Survived by wife, Hope; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Clyde Mayer, Bedford, TX; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Lois Partridge, Arlington, TX, John and Shelley Partridge, Fremont, NE; grandchildren, Jacob, Kala and Cole Mayer; Leah, Richard and Greg Partridge; Clarie and Drew Partridge.

Preceded in death by parents; sister, Virginia.

WILLIAM CHARLES FAIRBANK Age 83, of Riverside, passed away on September 12 from complications of surgery.

He was born on December 17, 1926, in Woodland, California, the son of the late James Partridge and Ruth Renfro Fairbank.

He grew up in Davis, California and joined the Navy after graduating from high school in 1944. After the war, he attended the University of California at Berkeley and finished his B.S. in Agricultural Engineering at UC Davis in 1950. Bill worked as an Agricultural Engineer for his entire career, first with Food Machinery Corporation, then as a farm advisor, and finally becoming a Cooperative Extension Agricultural Engineer at UC Davis and eventually UC Riverside. He was instrumental in advancements in dairying and farm mechanization throughout California and wrote and published many articles and bulletins on related subjects.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Holtz Fairbank. Together they resided in several communities in California, including Riverside for the past 45 years.

Bill is survived by his two children and their spouses: James F. Fairbank (Jacalyn) of Erie, PA, and Mary Louise Mermilliod (Gerald) of Riverside. He was lovingly called "Papa" by his four grandchildren: Sarah King of Riverside, Jenny King of Pullman, WA, and Kristen and Michael Fairbank, both of Erie, PA. He is also survived by his sister Betty of BC, Canada.

PATRICIA HOLTZ FAIRBANK Age 83, of Riverside, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 1. She was born on May 24, 1927, in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of the late William Frederick and Mary Doran Holtz.
She spent her childhood in Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, majoring in English. While teaching high school in Beaverton, Oregon, she met her husband of 56 years, William Charles Fairbank. They were married in Carmel, California, on June 6, 1954.

Together, they resided in several communities in California, including Riverside for the past 45 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two children and their spouses: James F. Fairbank (Jacalyn) of Erie, PA, and Mary Louise Mermilliod (Gerald) of Riverside. She was loved by her four grandchildren: Sarah King of Riverside, Jenny King of Pullman, WA, and Kristen and Michael Fairbank, both of Erie, PA.
