Ruth Louise Schmidt, of Bremerton, Washington, formerly of Boulder, died Novermber 15, 1997, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton. She was 82.
She was born July 30, 1915, in Grand Junction, to John Van Horn and Ellen Laffer Van Horn. She married Leonard Schmidt on April 16, 1938. He died in 1996.
She and her husband had owned and operated Schmidt TV service, a TV and radio repair shop in Boulder since 1951. They lived in Boulder from 1951 to 1978, coming from Longmont.
She was active in the Lady Elks in Boulder, the Elks Emblem Club on Whidbey Island, Washington; a life member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and a member of Bremerton Omega Master Chapter.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Schmidt of Bremerton and Donald Schmidt of Poulsbo, Washington; a daughter, Judith Beigert of Whidbey Island; six grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

Leonard Benjamin Schmidt of Bremerton, Washington died October 26, 1996, in Bremerton. He was 81.
He was born September 26, 1915, at the family homestead south of Strasburg, Colorado, to John Schmidt and Mildred Brown Schmidt. He married Ruth L. Van Horn on April 16, 1938, in Grand Junction.
He moved to Boulder in 1951 and opened Schmidt TV Service, a TV and radio repair shop.
In 1956 he began working for the Department of Commerce at the National Bureau of Standards in Boulder, where he helped pioneer work with lasers and radio wave propogation. He retired to Whidbey Island, Washington in 1978.He attended Bennett High School, where he played clarinet in the school band and lettered in track and basketball. He attended the University of Colorado on a scholarship and belonged to Phi Beta Kappa. He received a bachelor's Degree in Engineering in 1937. During World War II he served as an engineer, then was recruited to convert civilian factories to military production of war planes.
He was a life member of the Boulder Order of Elks and enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, cribbage and golf.Mr. Schmidt lived in Boulder from 1951 to 1978.
Survivors include his wife of Bremerton; two sons, Charles Schmidt of Bremerton and Donald B. Schmidt of Poulsbo, Washington; a daughter, Jude Beigert of Whidbey Island; a sister, Mabel Whitehead of Kiowa, Colorado; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

July 28, 1954Mrs. Margaret Young, 43, of Kearney died Tuesday in a local hospital, after a period of ilness covering the past four and one-half years.
Born in Ibavale, Mrs. young came to Kearney with her husband eight years ago. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and of P. E. O.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Young; a daughter, Linda and son, William, both at home; and one sister, Mrs. Norma Parriott of Des Plaines, Ill.

June 16, 1955C.H. Waldo president of the Commercial Bank at Republican city died very suddenly about 1:00 o'clock Wednesday morning, following a heart attack. Mr. Waldo's death came as a shock to members of his family as well as to his wide circle of friends and acquaintances throughout south west Nebr. and north central Kansas.
Born September 20, 1879 at Olin, Iowa, Mr. Waldo passed away at the Memorial Hospital in Alma June 15, 1955. He suffered the fatal attack at his home in Republican City and was rushed to the hospital where death followed a few moments after his arrival.
Mr. Waldo has been associated with the Commercial Bank at Rep. city since 1915. During the past 40 years Mr. Waldo has served in various campacties with the bank and for the past number of years had served as president of this financial institution. During the years Mr. Waldo had devoted almost all of his time and energy to the successful operation of the commercial Bank. He was widely respected in banking circles and his judgement was always found to be sound and justified. Under his management the bank had enjoyed an exceedingly large volume of business.
While of recent months Mr. Waldo had not enjoyed his usual good health, never less he continued to preform his duties each day at the bank, and Tuesday,the day preceding his passing, was no exception as he reported for work and remained at the bank throughout the day, waiting on patrons and performing his usual tasks.Mr. Waldo's death will be mourned by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed by patrons of that institution which he had been associated with for some forty years.
He was preceded in death by his wife on May 6, of this year. Surviving are his two sons, Haskell and James, both of Republican City, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, other relatives and many friends.

May 12, 1955Francis Louise Harmon Waldo was born August 30, 1881 at Bloomington, Nebr., to Fredrick and Ida(Rich) Harmon, and passed away at the Alma Memorial Hospital, May 6, 1955.
She was married to Clarence H. Waldo on Oct. 21, 1902 at Bloomington. To this union two sons were born, Haskell and James.
Mr. and Mrs. Waldo resided in Bostwick until 1915 when they moved to Republican City which has since been their home.
Mrs. Waldo was a member of the Episcopal church and a former member of the Eastern Star. She was an accomplished pianist and contributed much to the church and various organizations while her health permitted.Her generosity and kindhearted spirit endeared her to a large circle of friends and neighbors. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mrs. Waldo was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers C.E. Harmon and Edward H. Harmon.
Surviving are her husband and two sons of Republican City; one sister Mrs. Beuilah Carpenter of Long Beach, Calif.; one half brother Ted Hamston in South America; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, other relatives and a host of friends.

October 25, 2003Howard "Gene" Warriner, 88, of Grand Island died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at the Grand Island Veterans Home.
Mr. Warriner was born Sept. 25, 1915, east of Franklin to George and Nettie (Robinson) Warriner. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was discharged in 1945.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Dessie (Hawes-Cheney) Warriner; a son, Lee Warriner of Courtland; a daughter, Cina Oney of Independence, Mo.; and a brother, Glenn Warriner of Hastings.

July 13, 2006HASTINGS -- Glenn David Warriner, 79, of Hastings, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Warriner was born Feb. 26, 1927, at Franklin to George and Nettie (Robinson) Warriner.
Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Phyllis Warriner; two daughters, Carol Albin of Moorhead, Minn., and Bobbi Price of Leander, Texas; and two sons, Earl Warriner of Hastings and Stephen Warriner of Grand Island.
Additional survivors include 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He graduated from Franklin High School in 1944. He married Phyllis Schriner on June 17, 1945. He served in the Navy from April 1945 to May 1946. He trained at the Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago and served during WWII. He farmed in Franklin County before moving to Hastings in 1952. He worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot, then nearly 30 years at the Overhead Door Company. He retired from Thermo-King in January 1992.
He was a member of the North Shore Assembly of God and was active in the church as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, youth leader, Kennagers and Choir, and the VFW American Legion in Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and six brothers.
