December 09,1968Edward C. Wicker, president of the Wicker Lumber Co., 3411 ; Highland Ave., died Sunday night (Dec. 8, 1968) at Ransomville General Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Wicker, 77, had lived at 1062 Ridge Road, Lewiston, before his hospital confinement.
A native of Boone, Iowa, He came to this city in 1900 and after completing his education here joined with his father and uncle in operating the Wicker Lumber Co. He became president of the firm in 1952. Mr. Wicker was a past presdent of the Niagara Falls Rotary Club and a past director of the Niagara Falls Boys Club. He had also belonged to the Niagara Club, the Niagara Falls Country Club and the. YMCA here.
His wife, the former Edith Woodward, died here in 1952.
He is survived by a son, Edward S. Wicker of Lewiston; a grandson, U.S. Navy Lt. Charles L. Wicker, and three great--grandchildren.
He was married firstly to Gertrude Millicent Fountain, who was the mother of son Edward Sumner.

Survivors are her husband, Edward C Wicker, a step son Edward S Wicker, of Niagra Falls, three brothers, Col N Dodge Woodward, of Baltimore, now in Munich Germany, George Woodward of Baltimore and James G Woodward of Annapolis, and Emily C Woodward of Annapolis.

December 26, 1969Londonderry - Rollin C. Rowley, 74, World War I veteran, died Thursday in Rutland hospital. He was born Aug. 26, 1895 in Crown Point, N.Y., son of Edwin and Martha (Mead) Rowley.
He was a member of the Londonderry Second Congegational Church and was a charter member of Robert P. Stepherson American Legion Post 82 of Londonderry. He also belonged to West River Lodge 57 F&AM, of Londonderry and was a past member of the Manchester IOOF, an honorary member of the Londonderry Associates and a member of the West River Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors include his wife, the former Louise Warner, whom he married in 1918 in South Londonserry; two sons, Howard Rowley and Rollin Rowley Jr., both of Londonderry; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Roberts of Londonderry; a brother, George Rowley of Londonderry; three sisters, Mrs. Eva Adams of Arlington, Mrs. Zetia Polcen of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Gertrude Bates of Wadsworth, Ohio; six granddaughters, two grandsons, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

September 23, 1964MANCHESTER DEPOT - Barton Chandler Hilliard, 67, with the Railway Express for 48 years and its agent here since 1938, died Tuesday at his home in Manchester Depot.
A native of Peru, he was born June 17, 1897, a son of Allen and Fannie (Barton) Hilliard. His schooling had been received in the area. He went to Manchester in 1915 and was first employed by Standard Oil Co. In 1918 he became affiliated with Railway Express and was appointed agent 20 years later. For several years Mr. and Mrs. Hilliard had a catering service in Manchester-Dorset area.
Mr. Hilliard was a member of the Manchester Congregational Church and a past deacon. His Masonic connections included Adoniram Lodge F&AM; Adoniram RAM, Adoniram Order Eastern Star, Cairo Shrine of Rutland and Taft Commandery, Knights Templar, of Bennington. He was a committeeman of Troop 33 Boy Scouts of America and treasurer of the troop for many years.
On April 6, 1918 his daughter Doris Virginia Hilliard, by 1st wife Gertrude Louisa Rowely, was born.
They married in January of 1918 and divorced in 1920.Survivors are his wife, the former Fredrika Clement; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Matteson of Wallingford, Conn.; a son, Allen F. Hilliard of Manchester Depot; two sisters, Mrs. Christie Chadwick of Hollis, N.H., and Mrs. Louisa Desmond of Upton, Mass.; a brother, Harold Hilliard of Bennington, and nieces and nephews.

May 30, 2006QUEENSBURY * Faith M. (Rowley) Van Orman, 84, of Queensbury, passed away Monday, May 29, 2006, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born Aug. 23, 1921, in Bells Falls, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Minnie (Beals) Rowley.
Faith was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Glens Falls. She graduated from Glens Falls High School, Class of 1939. For 25 years she was a secretary for the Queensbury School District. Faith was past district deputy of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed traveling, playing the piano, and made many great memories traveling with her husband and the times spent with her many friends. Her friends will miss her dearly.
She and her husband were always together and always on the go, they loved eating and visiting at area restaurants.
Besides her parents, her son, Roger Van Orman and two brothers, Ralph and Elmer Rowley, predeceased her.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Halsey Van Orman, whom she married Dec 2, 1943 in Macon, Ga.; her grandson, Michael Patrick Van Orman of Virginia and two nephews, Philip Rowley of Washington and David Wiles of Queensbury.

December 16, 2014QUEENSBURY '97 Halsey Van Orman, 94, left this world peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at The Pines of Glens Falls. Halsey "Van" was born Feb. 17, 1920, in Glens Falls, the son of Frank and Estella (Gurney) Van Orman.
Van attended the Glens Falls schools and Delhi Technical Institute. He was a World War II veteran, joining the Army in 1941 and serving until 1945. He obtained the rank of captain and served in the European "Campaign Northern France" 1st IND 200-1 GAP. He was a platoon leader for the 156th infantry regiment serving in France, Belgium, England and Germany. He earned the EAME Service Medal, American Theater Medal and Victory Medal.
During his military time, he married Faith Rowley of Glens Falls on Dec. 2, 1943. They were married for 63 years.
Van worked at Great Meadow Correctional Facility as a construction/estimating instructor. He also wrote a number of books on residential construction. He was past president of the Glens Falls Kiwanis Club, a member of FAMA No. 121 and a member of Glens Falls Lodge No. 81.
He was predeceased by his son, Roger; his wife, Faith; and brothers and sisters, Francis and "Doc" Van Orman, Lucy and Leota Van Orman and Margaret Wiles.
He is survived by his grandson, Michael (Aubrie) Van Orman of Roanoke, Virginia; nieces and nephews, Debbie (Thom) Bombard of Glens Falls, David (Bonnie) Wiles and Michael Kelly of Queensbury and Philip Rowley of Washington state; and many other dear friends and relatives, including daughter-in-law, Patricia (James) Kidd of Virginia.
Local newspaperMrs. Georgia O. Hobart, 91, a former resident of Centralia, died Saturday at a longview nursing home. She was born June 2, 181 [sic], at McPhersom, Kan. She was a resident of Centralia from 1923 to 1967 when she moved to Longview.
She is survived by one son, Charles (Basil) Hobart, Kalama; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Wicker, Long Beac, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Ruth Snead, Tacoma and numerous nieces and nephews.

May 15, 1968Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Clio Barnard, Centralia, who died Monday in a Centralia hospital, will be Thursday.
Mrs. Barnard, 85, was born Oct 5, 1882, in Kansas and had lived in Centralia for the past 25 years. She was a former resident of Kalama.
Among survivors are two sisters, Mrs Ruth Snead, Tacoma, and Mrs Ed (Georgia) Hobart, Kalama, and a brother, Frank Wicker, Long Beach, California.

July 7, 1998FARRIER, Sylvia Pat Age 90, of Roseburg, passed away Friday, June 19, 1998 of heart failure.
She was born December 20, 1907 in Olds, Alberta, Canada to George and Ella Patridge Paton.
In April 1953, she was united in marriage to Joseph Merle Farrier in Reno, Nevada. She lived in Oakridge in the 50's. Mrs. Farrier worked as a clerk for the Forest Service at the Oakridge Office in the 50's. She was a saleswoman for Tupperware and also sold Melaleuca Home Products. She attended the 7th Day Adventist Church and the First Christian Church both in Roseburg. Mrs. Farrier enjoyed chess, classical music, writing, camping, fishing, exploring, gardening and flowers. She was an active member of the Garden Club in Roseburg. She also walked one to five miles a day.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Merle Farrier in 1989.
She is survived by: a son, William L. Wicker of Bellevue, Washington; a daughter, Betty Nelson and her husband, Greg, of Montesano, Washington; a step-son, Joe Farrier and his wife, Gale, of Phoenix, Arizona; step-daughters, Sandy Nixon and her husband, Jim of Oakridge, Oregon and Ann Bailey of Visalia, California; 14 step-grandchildren; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Grave side services will be held on Saturday, July 11, 1998 at 1 p.m., at Forestvale Memorial Park,
