April 23, 2006JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- E. Virginia Burgess died March 1, 2006, of natural causes at her home. Born E. Virginia Henderson on Oct. 31, 1920, to Ross L. Henderson and Vivien T. Henderson of Penacook, N.H., she was the third of four children.
She was raised in Penacook, where she attended Penacook High School graduating as valedictorian of her class. She continued her education at the University of New Hampshire, class of 1942. She received her bachelor of arts degree at UNH but it wasn't until later in life that she answered her true calling to become a teacher.
She was married to Charles Oliver. They had two children, Patricia and Charles. Mr. Oliver died in World War II.
Several years later, she married Stanton Burgess.
As members of the United Church of Christ in Jaffrey, N.H., they were active in church and community in the Order of the Eastern Star and the Triple D.
The family includes her husband of 58 years, Stanton Burgess; a son, Charles P. Oliver; and a daughter, Patricia E. Oliver; two brothers, Frank Henderson and Roger Henderson; nine nieces and nephews; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

September 5, 2010JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Stanton Burgess, 93, died Aug. 31, 2010, with his family by his side.
He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Burgess, who died four years earlier.
He was born in Marblehead, Mass., May 8, 1917, to George A Burgess and Catherine Stanton Burgess, the youngest of four children. He grew up in Marlborough, N.H.
During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army 243rd Field Artillery, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. Returning from the war, he dated and wed Virginia Henderson Oliver, and the couple enjoyed 58 years of marriage. In his professional life, he rose through the ranks at WW Cross Manufacturing and retired as the plant superintendent after 33 years of service.
He loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and golfer.He is survived by his children, Charles P. Oliver of Jacksonville and Patricia E. Oliver of St. Ignace de Stanridge, Quebec, Canada; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

April 16, 2010NORTON - Neta D. (Field) Henderson, beloved wife of 64 years to Francis E. Henderson, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010, at the Epoch of Norton Nursing Facility. She was 87 years old.
She was a daughter the late Stephen D. and Annie (Johnston) Field. Formerly of Stoughton and Stockholm, Maine, she graduated from Ricker Jr. College in Maine.
She was a retired office administrator for the former family owned business, Francis E. Henderson CPA of Stoughton, retiring in 2003. She was a past member of the Stoughton Women's Club and a member and Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She attended the First United Methodist Church of Stoughton.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and one son, Frances Schwartz and her husband Robert of Sharon, Jacqueline Hines and her husband Ralph of Holliston, Vivian Teague and her husband James of Norfolk and Ross Henderson and his wife Susan of Stoughton. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and eightgreat-grandchildren.
She was also the sister of Norma Raymond of Stoughton and the late Delbert Field and Patricia Donna.

Roger was formerly of Penacook and Hampton. He moved to Glastonbury, Conn., after the death of his high school sweetheart and wife, Marjorie (Boudreau) Henderson, whom he had been married to for almost 50 years before her death in 1996. For the past several years, he lived at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford, Conn.
He was the son of the late Ross and Vivien Henderson of Penacook, and he graduated in 1942 from Penacook High School, where he was involved as the captain of the basketball team. After graduation, he attended the University of New Hampshire in the pre-veterinary program until entering the service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II and the Korean conflict. He and his father owned the Hampton AG Food Market for 10 years, after which he pursued a career in banking, working for several Seacoast banks and retiring from Bank Meridian of Hampton.
Roger was very active in community organizations and was a charter member of St. James Masonic Lodge in Hampton as well as a 60-year member of the Horace Chase Lodge in Boscawen. He was also a member of the Hampton VFW.
He loved his family, hunting, fishing, camping at Pine Knoll Campground in Albany and dogs, especially English setters. When Roger lived in Hampton, he and Margie were mainstays at all the basketball and football games at Winnacunnet High School. He was proud of his Warriors. He was also a Boston Red Sox fan.
He is predeceased by his wife, Marjorie (Boudreau) Henderson; a brother Arthur Henderson; and a sister, Virginia Burgess.
He is survived by his two daughters, Judy Henderson of Keene and Robin and her husband, Wayne Seabury, of Goose Creek, S.C.; and a son, Roger Henderson Jr. of Portsmouth. Also surviving him are four grandchildren, John Lamb, Kevin Seabury, Jason Henderson and Jen Ashcroft; as well as five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Frank Henderson of Norton, Mass.

May 9, 1996Merton L. Haskell, 88, Bradenton, died May 5, 1996. He was born March 1, 1908, in Sudbury, Mass., and came to Bradenton several years ago from there. He was a retired firefighter. He was a 75-year member of Sudbury's Grange and a member of the Friends of Babe Ruth.
Survivors include his wife, Tossi; three daughters, Dorothy Chhuy of Bedminster, N.J., Beverly Haskell of Ashby, Mass., and Michele Garden of Bradenton; three sons, Frank Bernard of Bradenton, Joseph Bernard of Holmes Beach and Stephen Bernard of Ocala; a sister, Mildred Erikson of Sudbury; and nine grandchildren.

September 9, 2005Tossi Bernard Haskell, 81, Holmes Beach, died Sept. 7, 2005. She was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Lowell, Mass., and came to Holmes Beach 50 years ago from there. She operated a nursing home on Anna Maria Island for many years. She was a welder in the Navy during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Michele Garden of Bradenton; sons Frank Bernard of Bradenton, Steve Bernard of Ocala and Joe Bernard of Palmetto; a sister, Bernice Perry of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ACTON � Mildred L. (Haskell) Erikson, 93, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at the Life Care Center of Acton.
She was the wife of Henry Erikson, who died Jan. 27, 1964. Born and raised in Sudbury, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Alice (Sheffield) Haskell.
After their marriage, the Eriksons moved to Stow then settled in Acton in 1944. Mr. and Mrs. Erikson purchased the grain mill in South Acton in 1942 and established their business, Erikson's Grain Mill Inc., which continues to be owned and operated by the family. Through the years Mrs. Erikson worked on the family farms, and her life revolved around her family. She enjoyed reading, dancing cooking for her family.
She is survived by five children: Ruth Landy of Boxborough, James, John and David Erikson all of Acton, and Diane Landry of Boxborough and four grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Mertin and Clarence Haskell.
Son of John Erikson. Husband of Mildred Haskell. Cause of death: automobile/truck accident, internal head and chest injuries. He was buried on Janaury 30, 1964. He was a farmer.

September 5, 2002Ellery B. Haskell, 90, of 25 Price Drive, Topton, formerly of 515 N. 26th St., Pennridge, died Sept. 1 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was married to Grace C. (Campbell) Haskell for 61 years in April.
He taught for Albright College, Reading, from 1946 until retiring in 1977. After retiring, he taught for the January interim program at the college. Previously, he was minister of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Chester, Delaware County, 1942-45, and of Spencer Federated Church, Spencer, N.Y., 1937-41. He was ordained into the Baptist Christian ministry in 1937.
He was a graduate of Colgate University, Hamilton, N.Y., and attended Yale and the University of Chicago divinity schools. He received his bachelor of arts in divinity from Colgate Rochester Divinity School, his master of arts degree in American history from the University of Pennsylvania and his doctorate from the University of Chicago.
Born in Waltham, Mass., he was a son of the late Harold C. and Carrie E. (Dakin) Haskell.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Reading, where he served as moderator on the board of deacons, general superintendent of the church school, teacher of the Men's Class and as an occasional preacher. He was an associate member of Grace Lutheran Church, Topton.
He was past president of the Pennsylvania division of the American Association of University Professors and an emeritus member of the national AAUP and the American Philosophical Association.
He was a member of the board and former vice president of the Reading Council of Churches.
He was a member of the World Movement of World Federalists, New York City, and the USA World Federalists, Washington, D.C., and president of its Reading chapter.
Survivors: Wife; daughter, Helen J. Bosart of Guilderland, N.Y.; son, Richard C. of Claremont, Calif.; four grandchildren, two great-grandsons.

April 3, 2006Grace C. Haskell, 93, Topton, a former Reading School District teacher, died March 31 at 9:52 a.m. in the Henry Health Care Center of the Lutheran Home at Topton.
Her husband, Ellery B. Haskell, died Sept. 1, 2002.
Born in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde A. and Hulda B. (McQuiston) Campbell.
Haskell had been employed as an elementary school teacher in Reading for 20 years, retiring in 1970. She previously taught French at Prospect Park High School, Delaware County.She was a member of First Baptist Church, Reading. She was a past president of the ELCA women's association at Grace Lutheran Church, Topton, where she was an associate member.Haskell was president of the Albright College women's organization during the 1950s.She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
Haskell is survived by a son, Richard C., Claremont, Calif., and a daughter, Helen H. (Haskell) Bosart, Schenectady, N.Y. Other survivors include a sister, Helen C. September 15, 2006John F. Haskell, 85, of Bethel, a former Bethel supervisor and World War II veteran, died Sept. 12 at Vitas Hospice in Philadelphia.
A 1938 graduate of Springfield High School, Mr. Haskell was the fire marshal for BP in Trainer for 45 years.
A township supervisor in Bethel, he spearheaded the township's Bicentennial Celebration. He was a longtime member of the Springfield Fire Co. and served as the fire marshal in Bethel. Mr. Haskell served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his granddaughter and playing the banjo in the Mummers Parade.
Survivor: Wife of 63 years, Yvonne G. Cullinan Haskell daughters, Yvonne I. Bacon of Pennsville, N.J., Deborah Griffin of Chadds Ford one granddaughter.

Survived by her daughter Yvonne I. Bacon and her husband Herb of Middletown, DE, granddaughter, Jenn Walker of Bethel Township, PA, and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, John F. Haskell, daughter, Deborah Griffin, brothers, John and Arthur, sisters, Veronica, Mary, and Donna.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, music, entertaining friends and being with family.
