April 27, 1995Margaret Bellows Doud, 95, Saginaw, Mich., a native of Dickinson Center, died Tuesday morning at her home.
Surviving are her husband, Harold R.; a daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Peggy) Christie, Traverse City, Mich.; a grandchild, a great-grandchild and a sister, Emily E. Brown, Shelburne, Vt.
Born Feb. 11, 1900, in Dickinson Center, a daughter of Bert and Mamie Tower Bellows, she graduated from Dickinson schools and attended the State University of New York for several years.
She was a legal assistant and later a partner in the firm of Dolan & Case, Gouverneur, before her marriage to Harold Ray Doud on April 9, 1939, in Gouverneur. She was secretary-treasurer of Bellows-Tower Hydro Inc., Malone, since itsincorporation May 17, 1983.
She joined the Gouverneur Morris Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, on Oct. 22, 1925, was chapter regent from 1938 to 1939 and was a member of the NSDAR 50-Year Club.
In Saginaw, where she moved in 1941, she was a member of the Saginaw Chapter of the NSDAR and a life member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants of Michigan; National Society of New England Women, Sarah Sibley Colony; National Society of Women Descendants; Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company and Michigan Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America.
Also, while living in Michigan, she was a life member of the Hereditary Order of the Descendants of the Loyalists and Patriots of the American Revolution; the National Society of Old Plymouth Colony Descendants; Flagon & Trencher; the Navy League of the United States; the Tri-Cities Council, where she became a commodore in November 1988; the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan and Naomi Circle of the Kings Daughters and Sons, where she was president of the first circle from 1950 to 1951.

January 3, 1996Gerald L. Webert, 70, formerly of Watertown, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Diane Allen, Skaneateles, where he had lived for the last few months.
Surviving are two sons, David, Kirkville, and Stephen, Syracuse; a daughter, Diane M. Allen, Skaneateles; a sister, Shirley Starnes, Tampa, Fla.; and a grandson.
Born Oct. 5, 1925, in Watertown, son of Ross and Christiana Webert, he graduated from Watertown High School in 1943. From 1943 to 1946 he served with the Navy. After discharge, he was a millwright at the former St. Regis Paper Mill. He was also a self-employed carpenter in the Watertown area.
He married Phyllis A. Bailey on Sept. 21, 1946, at Deferiet Union Church with the Rev. W.A. Williams officiating. She died April 4, 1965. He married Julia Austin on Nov. 10, 1972. The marriage ended in divorce.
He was a member of the North Side Improvement League and the Masonic Order.

July 18, 2012Corinne C. Prior, 98, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 16, 2012 at Massena Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthop.
Corinne was born in Hopkinton on August 20, 1913, daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Bacon) Clough. She married Leonard J. Prior on May 16, 1965 at the Brasher Falls United Methodist Church with Rev. Cameron officiating. Mr. Prior died September 19, 1984.
Corinne was employed at the Registrar's Office at Clarkson College; at ALCOA in the 1940's in the Office of Superintendant of Remelt; at Sid G. Spear Insurance Office in Malone; then as a civilian with the Dept. of the Navy in Massena and then transferred to the US Army Corps of Engineers until the completion of the Seaway in 1959; then she was employed at St. Lawrence Central School until the time of her marriage.
She was also predeceased by one brother, Wayne Clough in June of 1966.

March 19, 2001John W. Haskell, 75, Aiken Road, died Friday in Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, where he had been a patient since March 11.
Mr. Haskell worked at Baker's Service, Moira, and then worked on the St. Lawrence Seaway construction project. He later owned and operated a milk truck, picking up milk at farms and delivering it to Sealtest, North Lawrence. He and his wife, Betty, operated Haskell's Grocery at Harwood Corners for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Born July 4, 1925, in Dickinson, son of John P. and Ethel Goodrow Haskell, he attended school in the Dickinson area.
He married Betty M. LaRock on June 30, 1951, at St. Mary's Church, Brushton, with the Rev. A.J. O'Brien officiating. She died Feb. 1.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John (Cheryl) Fadden and Mrs. Leo (Jan) Patnode, both of St. Regis Falls, and Mrs. David (Kelly) Austin, Dickinson Center; two brothers, Lloyd, Highland Falls, and Robert, Westfield, Mass.; two sisters, Mrs. Keith (Betty) Prosper, Dickinson Center, and Margaret Leahy, Malone; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A brother, James, died before him.

February 3, 2001Betty M. Haskell, 71, Aiken Road, died Thursday at her home.
Mrs. Haskell was first employed at the Bombay Slipper Factory and Warner Brothers, Malone, and she and her husband owned and operated Haskell's Grocery at Harwood Corners, Dickinson, for 15 years. She had been the town clerk of Dickinson for the past 22 years.
Born Jan. 25, 1930, in Moira, daughter of Louis and Cordella Deragon LaRock, she was a graduate of St. Regis Falls High School.
She married John W. Haskell on June 30, 1951, in St. Mary's Church, Brushton.
Mrs. Haskell enjoyed working on her family tree and with plants.
Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Cheryl and John Fadden and Jan and Leo Patnode, all of St. Regis Falls, and Kelly and David Austin, Dickinson Center; a brother, Louis LaRock, Moira; a sister, Geraldine Hammill, Syracuse; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Kathleen LaRock and Thelma Bomyea, and a brother, Otis J. LaRock, died before her.

February 3, 2014Lloyd H Haskell of Wallkill, NY, a retired Fork Lift Driver for U.S. Gypsum, Stony Point, NY died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at home. He was 78.
The son of the late John and Ethel Goodrow Haskell, he was born July 10, 1935 in Malone, NY.
He was a member of Most Precious Blood Church, St. Benedicts Chapel. Lloyd loved his family and his old cars.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen, at home; children: Stephen H. Haskell and his wife, Lenene of Walden, NY, Marion R. Berndt and her husband, Randy of Houston, TX, Susan Brown and her husband, Robert of Wallkill, NY, Lloyd H. Haskell, Jr. of Walden, NY, David J. Haskell and his wife, Michele of Rock Hill, NY; grandchildren: Andrea, Jessica, Michael, Timothy, Trina; great granddaughter, Catherine; two sisters, Betty Prosper and husband, Keith of Dickenson Center and Margaret Leahey of Malone; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers: John, Robert and Jimmy.

He was born July 18th 1937 in North Lawrence, NY son of the late John W. and Ethel M. (Goodreau) Haskell and attended local schools in Dickinson Center and St. Regis Falls, NY.
Robert was a truck driver for several local firms for thirty-five years, retiring in 1999 and was a member of Teamsters Local # 559 of Milford, CT. Robert moved to Huntington in 1963 and to Westfield in 2000.
He leaves his wife of forty-three years Patricia (Chatelle) Haskell and his children, Robert J. Haskell of Midland, TX, Thomas J. Haskell of Worthington, Ronald W. Haskell of Granville and Gary F. Haskell of Midland TX. He also leaves a brother Lloyd Haskell of Highland Falls, NY., two sisters Betty Prosper of Dickinson Center, NY., Margaret Leahy of Moira, NY. and eight grandchildren.

January 10, 2017Dalton � Patricia Kay (Chatelle) Haskell, 71 of Dalton, died Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Craneville Place of Dalton. She was born May 30, 1945 in Potsdam, NY,daughter of the late Wayne Francis and Mayfred (St. Dennis) Chatelle.
She was a graduate of Chateaugay Central High School, Chateaugay, NY. Patricia was a homemaker for 53 years, moving to Huntington, MA with her husband Robert H. Haskell in 1963, then to Westfield in 2000. After her husband's death in 2007, she moved to Agawam, and finally to Craneville Place in Dalton in 2016.
She leaves her sons and their wives, Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Haskell of Midland, TX, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Haskell of Worthington, MA, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald W. Haskell of Midland,TX and Mr. and Mrs. Gary F. Haskell of Midland, TX. She also leaves a brother, Larry Chatelle, five sisters; Carol Harrigan, Gale Chatelle, Lois Sampica, Brenda Blair and Anne Pashow, as well as eight grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.

June 5, 2015EASTON - Elmer Gatton Adams, 101, passed away June 2, 2015 at Heartfields Assisted Living in Easton, MD.
Mr. Adams was proceeded in death by his wife Margaret Gertrude Adams, his mother Caroline Lee Gatton, his father Henry Elmer Adams, a sister Audrey Higdon and two brothers John Adams and Bernard Adams.
Mr. Adams attended Trousdale Elementary, Gage Jr. High and Central High School in Washington, D.C. He was the youngest ever apprentice at The Government Printing Office at the age of just 16. He worked there until he retired in 1988.
As a young man, he was a member of the Potomac Boat Club. Because of his small size he served as a Coxswain of an eight oared boat. His boat and crew won first place in the President's Cup Regatta. An extensive article in The Post Times Herald newspaper reported the results with a picture of the crew and included a photo of Mr. Adams being thrown overboard which was a quaint habit among oarsmen at that time.
Mr. Adams was a life long Mason. He joined D.C. Lodge No. 1 and in later years he was an active member of The Bayside Lodge in Shady Side, MD. He had the honor of serving as Master at the Bayside Lodge.
In 1964, Mr. Adams and his two sons moved from D.C. to his summer home in Avalon Shores, MD. Mr. Adams was active in his community and was elected President of the Civic Association. He always enjoyed being around the water and over the years he spent time fishing, crabbing and he loved to water ski, an activity he continued into his 70's. Mr. Adams moved to Cape Coral, FL in 1988 and enjoyed
Elmer G. Adams doing things with his brother Jack, his wife Vola Vale and her sister Connie Gregor. He returned to Maryland in 2003 and lived by himself here in Easton until a severe fall last year landed him in the hospital and then in Heartfields.
Mr. Adams is survived by his two sons, Donald and his wife Penny Adams of Trappe, MD and Michael and his wife Susan of Easton, MD. He is also survived by his brother William Adams of Fulton, MD, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

July 31, 2002Alta May Hodgkins, 78, passed away as the result of an automobile accident July 26, 2002, on the Silverado Trail.
Alta was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Montgomery, Ala., to Joseph and Alta (Foster) Bonner. After graduating from high school, she went to business college in Fairfax, Va. In 1973, the family moved to Calistoga from San Francisco and she worked for Pacheteau's for 14 years. She was an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and a volunteer for the St. Helena Hospital where she received her recognition pin for 1,000 hours of service.
She is survived by her son, Dr. Kenneth E. Hodgkins of Loma Linda; her daughter, Earlane DeBeni of Santa Rosa; her brother, Joseph Bonner of Sun City; sisters, Betty Woosterand and Jean Key, both of Fairfax, Va., Dorothy Kisinger of Montrose, Colo. and Esther Smith of Cape Coral, Fla.; and one grandchild. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1977; brother, Foster Bonner and sister, Elaine Rogers.
