April 17, 2002Lynwood A. Tripp, 94, of Annapolis, died of natural causes March 7 at the Severna Park Center, Genesis ElderCare Network, after a brief illness.
Mr. Tripp was born Jan. 27, 1908, in Fall River, Mass., and raised in Massachusetts. He lived in Nutley, N.J., for 35 years, and graduated from the Newark College of Engineering. He worked as an engineer for Western Electric Co. for several years.
He lived in Cape St. Claire in Annapolis for 32 years and was the owner and operator of Photo Scan of Chesapeake.
Mr. Tripp was a member of the Shriners, the Boumi Temple, the Telephone Pioneers, the Annapolis Yacht Club and the Lavallette Yacht Club in New Jersey. He enjoyed sailing, woodworking and playing chess.
Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Fischer of Vero Beach, Fla.; one sister, Florence Lekom; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Tripp; one daughter; and one grandchild.

May 10, 2014Florence A. (Tripp) Lekom, 101, of Westport died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center. She was wife of the late Joseph Lekom. Born in Westport, she was daughter of the late Augustus W. and Addie F. (Brightman) Tripp.
Prior to retirement in 1977, she was a secretary for the Westport School Department.
Mrs. Lekom was a member of the Church of Our Savior, Somerset.
Survivors include a son: Jonathan B. Lekom of Fall River; 3 daughters: Audrey J. Jackson of Keene, NH, Brenda S. Underhill of Laguna Niguel, CA and Donna K. Kershaw of Groton, CT; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. S
he was mother of the late Marcia E. Lekom and sister of the late Warren, Lynwood, Kenneth and Carlton Tripp, Helen Borden, N. Ruth Shaw and Dorothy Tripp.

November 5, 1994HELEN M. CORY, 73, of 63 Warren St., formerly of Cory's Lane, Tiverton, an office clerk and secretary for Cherry & Webb for 28 years before retiring 20 years ago, died Thursday at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston.
Born in Tiverton, a daughter of the late Florence M. Cory, she moved to Fall River 10 years ago.
Miss Cory attended St. Theresa Church, Tiverton, and later became a communicant of Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Fall River. She attended Thibodeau's Business School, and was an active supporter and life member of the "We Love Children" organization.
She leaves several cousins.

February 2007Norman J. Audette, of Abington, January 31,2007 Age 72. Husband of Carole L. (Cory) Audette. Father of Suzanne M. Ricci of Plymouth, Marc. M. Audette of Abington, Steven P. Audette of TX and the late Lisa J. Murphy. Brother of Alfred Audette of Brockton, Roger Audette of Swansea, Lillian Rioux of Fall River and the late Irene Sardinha. Step Brother of Normand Fontaine of Fall River. Also survived by 5 grandchildren a great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Audette died on Wednesday in the South Shore Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Rockland after a period of failing health. He was born in Salem, son of the late Jean and Beatrice (Breausseau) Audette and was raised and educated in Westport.
Norman was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He has made his home in Abington for the past 35 years. Mr. Audette retired in 1997 after a lengthy career with Commonwealth Auto Re-Insurers Co. in Boston.

March 2, 2005Harold R. Cory Jr. 74, of Adamsville died on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of Elsa M. (Loescher) Cory. They had been married for 45 years.
Born in Fall River on Nov. 26, 1930, he was a son of the late Harold R. Cory Sr. and the late Margaret (Grant) Cory.He was a1948 graduate of BMC Durfee High School and a 1952 graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a degree in poultry. While at URI, he was a member of the Sigma Pi and Alpha Zeta fraternities. He later attended evening school at Providence Bible Institute where he and Elsa first met.
Mr. Cory served as a 4-H agent for northern Rhode Island for several years before he began growing Brownell roses. Later on he founded a wholesale nursery, Cory?s African Violets, in Tiverton. For many years he operated greenhouses in New Bedford and Portsmouth before moving the business entirely to Adamsville. In 1987 Mr. Cory received a citation for his work with African violets from the Massachusetts Horticultural Society.
Mr. Cory was a member of the Third Baptist Church in Fall River and was one of the founding members of the former Founders Memorial Baptist Church in Portsmouth. He served as a board member of Children?s Haven in East Douglas, Mass., and coached baseball for many years in Little Compton. He helped found the Little Compton minor league baseball program and coached the 1981 pony league team that won the state championship.
Mr. Cory loved nature, watching birds, finding wildflowers and following the Red Sox.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Karen P. Dasanaike of Raleigh, N.C.; three sons, Rodman W. Cory of Hinesburg, Vt., Keith J. Cory of Adamsville, Jeffrey G. Cory of Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, William G. Cory of Keene, N.H., and Lester W. Cory of Tiverton; 12 grandchildren, four nieces and three nephews.

June 16, 1994MARY G. CORY, 87, of Brayton Road, a teacher at the Nonquit Elementary School for many years before retiring in 1977, died yesterday. She was the widow of Thomas E. Cory.
A lifelong Tiverton resident, she was a daughter of the late Rosco and Hanna (Manchester) Dwelley.
Mrs. Cory was a member of the Bliss Four Corners Congregational Church, and was a historian of the church. She was a graduate of the former Rhode Island College of Education, now Rhode Island College.
She leaves a daughter, Elizabeth R. Brooks of Tiverton; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Anne M. Ainsworth, 95, who leaves family on Cape Cod, died yesterday in Ad
ams House. She was the wife of the late Raymond W. Ainsworth. Born and raised in Fall River, she was a lifelong resident of that city until moving to Adams House in 1990.
A homemaker, Mrs. Ainsworth was a lifetime member of the Union United Methodist Church where she was active in its religious education programs. She began as a Sunday School teacher at age 16 and was later honored by having the nursery of the church dedicated to her. Mrs. Ainsworth was a member and former district officer of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the church an assistant Girl Scout leader working with the Steep Brook group.
She is survived by a son, Raymond W. Ainsworth Jr. of Fall River; a daughter, Avis Clay of Bourne; two sisters, Lois Anderson of Bridgewater and Inez Thurber of East Providence, R.I.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday in Adams House, 1168 Highland Ave. in Fall River with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River.

Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Walter C. and Lucy (Chase) Reed.
Mr. Reed was a member of the North Fall River Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

March 12, 2001RUSSELL H. THURBER, 83, of Mowry Avenue, a retired mechanic and milkman, died Friday at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.
He was the husband of Inez L. (Reed) Thurber. Mr. and Mrs. Thurber would have celebrated their 64th anniversary March 20. Born on May 6, 1917, in East Providence, a son of the late John F. and Roseina (Glanville) Thurber, he had lived in East Providence most of his life.
Mr. Thurber was a mechanic for Fruehauf Trailers, Seekonk, for 10 years, retiring in 1979. He had previously been a delivery driver for the Howard Barber Dairy for 25 years, He was a member of Rising Sun Lodge 30, F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley, Providence, Providence Royal Arch Chapter 1, the Masonic Veterans Association, and Palestine Temple Shriners, Cranston, where he was a member of the Temple Guard with the rank of lieutenant. He was a member of FOP 24, Woonsocket, and the Kent County Sheriffs Association.
Mr. Thurber was a member of Haven United Methodist Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Loretta Sylvia of East Providence and June Charron of Pueblo, Colo.; a son, Russell A. Thurber of Seekonk; a sister, Dorothy O'Connell of North Kingstown; and 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Charles, Gordon and John F. Thurber Jr., Mabel Trementozzi and Eleanor Morris.

S/Sgt. Edward (Ted) Reed was the 11th of 13 children and youngest of six sons of Walter C., Sr., and Lucy M. (Chase) Reed. During WWII Ted was a B-24 assistant engineer-gunner on the Nathan Margolies crew, 9th Bomb Squadron, 7th Bomb Group, 10th Air force, India-Burma Theater. Reed and three of his comrades were killed when their B-24L Liberator experienced engine trouble, forcing the pilot to ditch in one of the rivers of India's Sundarbans, a mangrove swampland bordering the Bay of Bengal. Ted died from a head wound after swimming to shore. His body was recovered. The other three crew members and the plane remain missing in what now is Bangladesh. Reed was 22. He was awarded the Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Distinguished Unit Citation, and (posthumously) the Purple Hear

May 4, 1994ROBERT E. KANUSE, 67, of Assonet, Mass., formerly of Fall River, who worked at Pearson Yacht Co., Portsmouth, for 10 years, died yesterday at Miriam Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Mary (Cain) Kanuse. He was also the husband of the late Marjorie (Reed) Kanuse.
Born in Fall River, son of the late George and Mary (Dean) Kanuse, he had lived in Assonet for 15 years.
Mr. Kanuse previously had been a mechanic for more than 20 years at the former President Motors, Fall River.
He leaves a son, Edward R. Kanuse of Fall River, and a brother, Richard Kanuse of Hayward, Calif.

May 8, 1991Allan Davis, 69, of 498 Durfee St., a self-employed woodsman who had operated a saw mill where he sold firewood, died yesterday at home. He was the husband of Judith M. (Stephens) Davis.
Born in Fall River, son of the late William W. and Ethel (Chase) Davis, he was a lifelong Fall River resident.
Mr. Davis was a member of the former North Methodist Church.
He had also worked for Brightman Saw Mill and Noverca's Saw Mill and had previously been a supervisor for Boston Sand and Gravel.

Chase, USAAF, of Fall River, husband of Mrs. Erma Dixon Chase, formerly of Quaker Hill, Portsmouth, was fatally injured in an automobile accident in Sioux City, Iowa, near the air base where he was stationed. A native of Fall River, he had been in the military service since October, 1942. He leaves his wife, a son, Norman, his father, Norman B. Chase of Westport, Mass., a brother, Corporal Richard C. Chase, U.S.A., and a sister, Mrs. Laura Simmons of Fall River.
