Harriette G. (Webster) Morrell, 85, formerly of 42 Adams Road, a operator for the former New England Telephone Co. (now NYNEX) for more than 30 years, died Sunday in a local nursing home. She was born in Orange, and moved here as a child. She was graduated from Greenfield High School.

She worshipped at the First Congregational Church of Turners Falls, and was a chorister and member of its Friends in Council. She played the violin, piano and organ, and was a former violinist in the Pioneer Valley Symphony. She was in the Council of Telephone Pioneers and Eastern Star's Arcana Chapter 81, for which she also served as organist.

Her husband, Roland W. Morrell, died in 1989. Mrs. Morrell leaves a brother, Virgil of Flushing, Mich., and several nephews and nieces.

Bill is survived by his former wife and friend, Ellie Webster of Trenton, and their three children, Connie (Ed) Purdum of Franklin, Karen (Gary) Day of Middletown, and Lois Webster (Ken) Hollon of Miami Township; his son, James H. Webster of FL, and his two daughters Jeanne Webster and family and Joannie (Webster) Demlow and family, both of KY; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Mrs, Bertha M. (Haskell) Blanchard, 82, of 125 Lake Ellis Road, Athol, formerly of Springfield, died Tuesday in Memorial Hospital, Athol.

She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Izadora (Southard) Haskell. She leaves her husband, Arnold K. Blanchard; two sons, Neal L. Prouty with the Airforce in Charleston, N.C., and Dana H. Prouty of Orange; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Sawer and Mrs. Phenice Fault, both of Orange, and Mrs. Jean Boudreau of Phillipston; three stepsons, Arnold K. Blanchard, Jr., of Hartford, Conn., Robert B. Blanchard of Athol and Fred B. Blanchard of Middleboro; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren.

ORANGE- Charlotte E. (Hall) Prouty, 86, of 106 Harrison Avenue, died on Wednesday afternoon, August 9, 2006, at home, following an illness.

Born in Erving on February 10, 1920, she was a daughter of Ralph S. and Daisy (Purrington) Hall and grew up in Erving

Following school, she had worked Erving Paper Mills as a bookkeeper and also had worked at the former James D. Kimball Insurance Company as well as the former Fleetwood Nursing Home now known as Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.

Charlotte enjoyed knitting and sewing and had been a member of the Erving Congregational Church and the Orange Senior Citizens' Club.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharman Prouty of Orange; several nephews, nieces, and cousins; and her beloved beagle, "Nipper".

Charlotte was predeceased by her former husband, Dana H. Prouty in 1999 and a son, Alan Prouty in 1997.

ATHOL -- Virginia May Keyes, age 98, died Saturday, February 18, 2017 at The Highlands.

Virginia was born September 17, 1918 in Athol. She is the daughter of the late Ralph H. and the late Mildred F. (Newton) Sedgwick.

She lived in Athol most of her life also living in the Tully section of Orange for several years. She graduated from Orange High School in 1935.

Virginia was employed as a LPN at Athol Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1978. She began working at the hospital as an aide in 1954 taking training to become an LPN and worked there for a total of 24 years. She previously worked for L.S. Starrett Company for 12 years.

She was a member of Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to Maine on family vacations which the family did for 58 years. She also enjoyed skiing for many years until the age of 65. Many of her ski trips were with seven of her fellow nurses from the hospital.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon L. Besarkarski and her husband, James of Lunenburg.

She is predeceased by her husband, Russell Keyes and her cousin, Myrtha Gale.

MIAMI -- Graveside services fo Ralph Brizzee, 84, will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Masonic section of the Pinal Cemetery in Central Heights.

Mr. Brizzee, who died Friday at Miami Inspiration Hospital, was born in Mesa. He had lived in Miami for the past 55 years, where he worked as a yard foreman for Miami Copper Co.

Survivors include his wife, Florence: a daughter, Mrs. Bettie Hicks; a sister; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
