Margaret J. Sampson YORK- Margaret J. Sampson, 97, formerly of Pasadena, Calif. and Laguna Woods, Calif., died at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at Manor Care Health Services-Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Foster Sampson and the late Jack Carr, Jr. Born November 17, 1906 in Altus, Okla., she was the daughter of the late John Montgomery and Anna Laure (Moore) Julian. She retired as an Elementary School Teacher in the Pasadena, Calif. area.

She is survived by a son, Jack D. and his wife Mary Carr of York; a stepson, Robert and his wife Cathy Sampson of Sequion, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

BURNETT, BARBARA, 67, of Grand Prairie, TX passed away, May 4th at Hearthstone's Vitas Hospice Care Unit in Irving, TX. after a courageous battle with cancer.

She is preceded in death by her parents Opal Williams and Winfred Crouch, her maternal grandparents, Benjamin F. and Oda Tyra and grandson Kish Duncan.

A private service was held for Stetson Bromley Harman, who died May 15, 1998, at age 85.

Mr. Harman was born Dec. 13, 1912, in Oak Park, Ill. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and attended Pomona College. He moved to Portland from Pasadena, Calif., in 1954. He was a trust banker, retiring in 1975 as senior vice president and executive trust officer of First Interstate Bank. Mr. Harman was president of the Portland City Club and national president of the American Institute of Banking, and president of the trust division of the American Bankers Association. He was a lifetime trustee of Lewis & Clark College and a member of Valley Community Presbyterian Church. He married Barbra F. Cleland in 1935.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Lorna Sanders of Sacramento, Calif., and Ellen Harman of Pendleton; brother, Richard P. of Monarch Beach, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Interment is in Finley's Sunset Hills.

PITTSFORD - Mary Harmon Parker, 96, died peacefully early Thursday morning, April 11, 2013, at Rutland Regional Medical Center, surrounded by family.

She was born on August 9, 1916, in West Rutland, VT, the daughter of Richard and Edith (Sessions) Harmon.

Mary worked for many years side by side with her husband and son on their farm, the Parker Hill Farm.

Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, and baking, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, William Parker and his wife Martha, and Charles Parker of Pittsford; one daughter Betty Parker Landonof Beaufort, S.C.; one sister Elizabeth Hawkins of Milford, CT; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband Fred Parker Jr., a brother Richard Harmon, and a sister Charlotte Johnston.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford, where family and friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery.

Joyce K. Harmon, 81, of Rutland, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at The Meadows of Rutland.

She was born in Whitehall, NY, May 28, 1927, the daughter of Charles and Julia (Barber) Kilburn.

Joyce was a 1944 graduate of Whitehall High School and graduated from Rutland Hospital School of Nursing in 1947.

She married Richard S. Harmon on November 21, 1947. Mr. Harmon died in 1987.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She was employed for thirty-five years at Rutland Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse, retiring in 1990.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Harmon Crandall and her husband Steven of Hope Valley, RI; two grandchildren, Joshua and Stephanie; a brother, Truman R. Kilburn of Fairplay, SC; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband.

She enjoyed her family and many good friends. She will be remembered for her courageous battle against ALS.

He owned the Pink Palace Dairy Bar, Rawsonville. He was a Congregationalist. He was a member of the Tater Hill Country Club, Windham, Vt., and the Suncoast Mustang Club, Clearwater.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; a son, George N. III, Ontario, Calif.; and a sister, Louise Harman Gilbert, Largo.
