"Of Maine for a time (was in Fayette in 1804 where daughter Theodate was born and in Hallowell in 1806 where daughter Judith was born), then went to Middlebury and Salisbury, Addison, Vermont where some of his brothers were living. (In Middlebury in 1810 where daughter Sally was born.) While in Salisbury, VT, he was in the clothing business. In 1820, he and brother George removed to Mina, NY where they lived in the village of Findley Lake.
At the 1835 NY State census, Roger was living in Mina, NY where he is recorded as having a family of 2 males and 2 females living on 15 acres of improved land. One male was of militia age; both males were eligible to vote. One female was unmarried and between the ages of 16 and 45; the other female, then was likely wife Sally, a married female over 45. The only other Haskell male in Mina at this census was son Hartwell B.; it's not yet known which other son was living at home in 1835. Similarly, it's not known which daughter was as yet unmarried in 1835, but it was likely Mary for whom a husband's name has yet to be identified."
Silas Haskell was unmarried.
Elmira Haskell was unmarried.
Eli Haskell was a merchant.
