Burial will be in Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie, In… Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday and until the time of service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Carlisle Ambulance Service.

Dorothy was born Nov, 25, 1908, in LaPorte, and was a lifelong area resident. On July 22, 1944, in Florida, Dorothy married John K. Lloyd, who died May 28, 1951.

Surviving are a daughter, Frances Kush of New Carlisle; two sons, John and George Lloyd, both of New Carlisle; six grandchildren.

A brother, Haskell Frances, preceded her in death. Dorothy was employed as a cook at the Home Café in New Carlisle, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary oh New Carlisle

The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Steigley, Rose Ethel Steigley, aged 1 year, 3 months and 23 days, passed away at 10:30 Friday morning at the home of her parents at 223 East Main street. After an illness of several weeks with measles, meningitis set in and death came Friday morning.

The burial will be at Pine Lake cemetery.

Earlyne Chaney, 80, author and teacher who wrote more than 100 books on sp
irituality and New Age subjects. In 1951, with her husband, Robert, she co-founded Astara, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the exploration of spirituality. A native of rural Texas, Chaney abandoned a brief Hollywood acting career to study and advocate the uniting of Eastern and Western religions. She developed a new discipline of meditation or prayer which she called Lhama Yoga. Among Chaney's books were a long series titled "The Astara Book of Life" and others such as "Initiation in the Great Pyramid," "The Mystery of Death and Dying" and "Remembering: The Autobiography of a Mystic." Wisdom - Don Francis, 70, a native of the Big Hole Valley, died Tuesday in Seattle at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Vern Pike.

Mr. Francis was born in Wisdom, March 27, 1891, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Francis. He married Beth Pendleton July 4. 1915, in Wisdom. He owned a ranch near Sula in the Bitter Root Valley, and in recent years had made his home in Slevensville. His wife died in May of this year, and since that time he had lived with his daughter in Seattle.

Survivors include two sons in law and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Pike, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Sawyer, all of Seattle; a brother in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Armitage, Port Orchard, Wash.; a brother and sister in law, Mr. and Mrs. George Francis, Randall, Wash., and several grandchildren.

Burial will be in Wisdom cemetery.

Mrs. Beth Francis, 65, of Corvallis, Tuesday became Montana's second fatal
ity accident of the Memorial Day period when she was struck by her own car. Highway Patrol Sgt. Mel Mooney reported that the accident occurred as Mrs. Francis was opening a gate at the Pendleton Ranch near Wisdom. Mooney said the gate had been opened when she motioned to her husband to drive the car forward. Francis apparently jammed his foot on the gas pedal, accidentally striking his wife. She was dead on arrival at a Butte hospital.

The impressive ring ceremony was used, with Dr. J.A. Meeke, pastor, officiating. A number of friends of the young people were present and Mrs. William R. Rasmussen and Arnold Zebarth were attendants.

Billee F. Rosenbarger, 88, of Shelton, formerly of Port Orchard, died March 6, 2002, in Shelton. She was born Dec. 8, 1913, in Wisdom, Mont., to Reece and Florence Armitage. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1931 and from beauty school in Seattle.

She married Paul Rosenbarger on Feb. 14, 1935, in Bremerton. He died in 1991. Mrs. Rosenbarger was a beautician, owning and operating a shop in Bremerton from 1932 to 1937. She was a member of Women of Rotary, Ladies of Elks, the Winter Club, Triad Sorority, PEO chapters in Bremerton and Puyallup and Faith Lutheran Church in Shelton. She was involved in the Girl Scout Council in Mason County when her daughters were active in scouting. She wrote cookbooks, taught beauty skills and painted with watercolors. Other interests included sewing, arts and crafts, mycology, photography, camping, traveling and playing the piano.

Survivors include two daughters, Gean Smith and her husband, Jerry, of Tacoma and Doni Topel and her husband, Ken, of Shelton; a sister-in-law, Irene Armitage of Allyn; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Armitage, of Allyn.

Former Bremerton resident Irene N. (Fry) Armitage, 84, of Allyn died May 28, 2003, at Harrison Hospital.

She was born Dec. 2, 1918, in Bremerton to Edwin and Ruby Fry. She was raised and educated in Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High School in 1937.

She married George Herbert Armitage on Aug. 15, 1937, in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1990.

Mrs. Armitage worked as a secretary with Bremerton School District for many years until her retirement in 1978. She held secretarial positions at Bremerton High School and at the school district's administration office.

She was a member of Triads Sorority. She enjoyed golf, dancing, bridge, gardening, travel and watching golf tournaments and the Seattle Mariners on television.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharlene Rivers of Cheney, Joanne Wright of Allyn and Barbara Liberty of Olympia; two sisters, Shirley Laes and Delores St. Laurent, both of Bremerton; eight grandchildren, Martin, Kimberly, Kelly, Kristin, Karmen, Jennifer, Brian and Gregory; and six great-grandchildren, Derrick, Brandon, Kendall, Tyler, Bryce and Carson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Blockhus.
