April 18, 2000HYRUM, Utah - Paul A. Nielsen, 89, passed away peacefully in his Hyrum home on Monday, April 17, 2000. Born Jan. 13, 1911, in Hyrum to David Osborn and Charlotte Temple Allen Nielsen, he was reared and educated in Hyrum. On May 26, 1937, Paul married Eunice Ann Peart in Logan. Eunice passed away on Nov. 10, 1982. He then married Helen R. Richardson on May 2, 1984.
Having lived in Hyrum and Ogden, Paul worked as a general building contractor, stonemason, and rancher. Active in the LDS Church, he served in Scouting, bishopric and numerous other callings. He served as an officiator in the Logan LDS Temple. As a young man, Paul served an LDS mission to California, and later, with his wife, Helen, he served in the Tampa Florida Mission.Paul is survived by his wife, Helen; children, David (Christa) Nielsen, Farmington, Judy (Bill) Erickson, Logan, Richard (Connie) Nielsen, Paradise, Annette (Karl) Mattson, Littleton, Colo., Mike (Lori) Nielsen, Manti, and Joseph (Sandy) Nielsen, Logan; stepchildren, Delwyn L. (Williamena) Richardson, serving as mission presidents in El Salvador, Verlayne (Grant) Harris, North Ogden, and Danny G. (Brenda) Richardson, Malad, Idaho; 40 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren, 17 stepgrandchildren, 49 step great-grandchildren; and brother, H. Eugene (Dorothy) Nielsen, Bountiful.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eunice; three brothers; five sisters; one granddaughter, Rachel Nielsen; one stepdaughter; and one step great-grandson.
Burial will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.

December 5, 2000Helen R. Richardson Nielsen, 85, passed away Dec. 3, 2000, of causes incident to age. She was born May 26, 1915, in Molen, Utah, to William H. and Edna R. Sommercorn Rasmussen. She attended Ogden City schools, graduating from Ogden High School. She married Leland C. Richardson Oct. 3, 1932. They were sealed on May 2, 1941, in the Salt Lake Temple.
She lived in Washington Terrace, Ogden, Huntsville, Hyrum and North Ogden. Lee died Aug. 11, 1980. She later married Paul A. Neilsen and moved to Hyrum. As her health gave way, she returned to Huntsville to live with her son and daughter-in-law in North Ogden, where she passed away. She was a member of the North Ogden 7th Ward. She was a very active and faithful servant in the LDS church, holding many positions, including Relief Society president, Primary and Young Women's teacher. She served two LDS missions: Rochester, N.Y., mission with Lee and the Tampa, Fla., mission with Paul. She also served as a temple worker in the Ogden and Logan temples.
She and her sisters compiled a book on the Rasmussen Family and had it published. She had worked at the Children's Nursery at Washington Terrace during World War II, at the Brenda Kent Sewing Mill, and Hill Air Force Base, where she retired. Her hobbies included writing poetry, crocheting, sewing, fishing and actively supporting her husband, Lee, in the scouting program. She was a very sweet, loving and compassionate lady and mother. She enjoyed doing genealogy work and was very proficient in getting the work done for her ancestors.
Surviving are two sons, Delwyn L. (Williamena) Richardson, Huntsville (presently serving in El Salvador), Danny G. (Brenda) Richardson, Malad, Idaho; one daughter, Verlayne (Grant) Harris, North Ogden; 17 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by six step-children, Joe (Sandy) Nielsen, Judy (Glen) Erickson, David (Christa) Nielsen, Michael Nielsen, Richard (Connie) Nielsen, Annette (Karl) Mattson and 39 step-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Leah Hopson, Mesa, Ariz., and one brother, Delwyn Rasmussen, Pacific Grove, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leland Richardson, her second husband, Paul Nielsen, one daughter, Marlene Kap Johnsen, one son-in-law, Gordon Kap, and her parents, one sister, one infant brother and one great-grandson. The family would like to thank the Hospice Program for the compassionate service and care of our mother.
Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.

March 22, 2008H. Eugene Nielsen 1913 ~ 2008 H. Eugene Nielsen, age 94, died Fri., March 21, 2008 in Bountiful, Utah.Born April 11, 1913 in Hyrum, Utah to David O. and Charlotte Allen Nielsen. Married Dorothy Crockett, June 26, 1940 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple.
His life was filled with church service, including Bishop, Counselor in a Stake Presidency and Temple Ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple. He served four missions for the church, one as a young man and three with his wife. He was a civil engineer and a founder of Nielsen, Maxwell & Wangsgard Consulting Engineers. His greatest joy in life was his family. He blessed our lives through his example, stories, counsel and activities.
Survived by his children, Mariet (Lynn) Greenwood, Alpine, UT; Arlene (Lee) Fry, West Valley City, UT; Howard (Janet), Henderson, NV; Linda (Tony) Johnson, Helena, MT; Mark (Lyn), Green Bay, WI; Margaret (Quinn) Carroll, Midland, TX; Julie (John) Dennis, Bountiful, UT; 43 grandchildren; 109 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, his parents and siblings and two grandchildren.

October 4, 2005Dorothy C. Nielsen, age 87, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah. Born August 25, 1918 in Pima, Arizona, the daughter of Hyrum Wesley and Elizabeth Jane Lamb Crockett.
Married H. Eugene Nielsen June 26, 1940 in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple. Dorothy's life was devoted to her family and church. She served four missions, one before marriage and three with her husband. She was also an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for many years. She loved people and always put others first.Survived by her husband of 65 years; her seven children: Mariet (Lynn) Greenwood, Alpine; Arlene (Lee) Fry, West Valley; Howard (Janet), Henderson, NV; Linda (Tony) Johnson, Helena, MT; Mark (Lyn), Green Bay, WI; Margaret (Quinn) Carroll, Midland, TX; Julie (John) Dennis, Bountiful; 43 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Osmer Crockett, Elmo Crockett, Irene Angle, and Doris Montierth. Preceded in death by two grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters.

March 6, 1992Maxine Corlett Quinney Nielsen, age 75, died Tuesday, March 3, 1992 at Dixie Regional Medical Center. She was born April 15, 1916 at Provo, Utah to James and May Benson Corlett.
She married Edward Gale at Logan, Utah; he preceded her in death February 10, 1986. She married Doublas S. Nielsen, Nov. 14, 1991 at St. George, Utah. Reared and educated in Logan, Utah, Mrs. Nielsen has also lived in Tremonton, Utah from 1945 until coming to St. George, Utah in 1978. She was active in the Civic League in Tremonton for many years where she was active in promoting special education in Public Schools. She was employed for years in the family Auto Parts Business and in Ladies apparel. She enjoyed quilting and loved to golf. As a member of the LDS Church,she had served in the Young Womens and Relief Society. She was a great neighbor and loved by those who knew her.Surviving family members include her husband, Douglas, St. Geroge; three sons and one daugher, Steve Quinney, North Ogden; Paul Quinney, St. George; and Mrs. Jerald Carolyn'' Valentine, Littleton, Colo.; also nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two sisters; Mrs. Beulah Boshard, Sacramento, Calif.; and Mrs. Vaughan Daniels, Salt Lake City.
Interment, St. George City Cemetery.

August 2, 1963Nampa, Idaho (A/P) - The body of Mrs. Priscilla Noble, 57, of Kuna, who had been missing from her fome since Wednesday was found Thursday in the Waldvogel Canal west of here.
Officers said Mrs. Noble was reported missing Wednesday evening after failing to return home from a walk. They said her body was located in the canal about 2 1/2 miles downstream from a spot where her shoes were found earlier in the day.

May 27, 1976Boise - Services for John Edgar Noble, 78, Boise, who died Tuesday in a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Relyea Mortuary by Bishop Darwin Manship of the 26th Ward LDS Church. Intermant will be in Kohlerlawn.
He was born July 4, 1897, in Osage, Iowa. He farmed in the Kuna area until 11 years ago, when he retired.
Among area survivors are a son, John E., Kuna; and a daughter, Mrs. Jean Grow, Wilder.

September 21, 2016Pearl LuRae Holladay Noble, 87, passed peacefully at her home on September 17, 2016, surrounded by her family who will forever treasure her life and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
Pearl was born on May 29, 1929, in Nampa, the 12th child of 14 to David Earl and Martha Loretta Ellsworth Holladay. She grew up in Kuna and Nampa, except for a few years during WWII, when her parents moved to Vancouver, WA to work in the shipyards there.
Pearl married John Edgar Noble on May 16, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. John and Pearl raised their 8 children on the farm growing crops and milking cows.
Pearl spent many years in church service with her favorite calling being a temple worker in the Boise LDS Temple. Her favorite activity was working on her family's genealogy. She spent a decade working on German records, despite not being able to speak German. Pearl had a strong testimony of the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ and was thrilled to support her sons and grandchildren on missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so they could share that message with others. Pearl loved family gatherings, playing games and putting puzzles together with her children and grandchildren. She remembered every family member's birthday and made it to every grandchild's baptism and graduation.
Preceding Pearl in death were her eldest son Robert (Bob) Noble; her mother and father; brothers: Parnell, Lamar, Joe, Vernal, and Jack; and sisters: Vidella, Lilly Hower, Verna Newby, Margie Armstrong, Donna Jean; and a foster daughter Ruth Mabey.
She is survived by her husband John Noble; Bob's wife Susan Noble; and her 7 other children with spouses: Janet (Dennis) Smith, Diann (Rod) Wilcox, Victor (Elaine), Sheri (Grant) Leavitt, Dan (Suzanne), Jack (Khammay), and Gail (Jerry) Stark, sisters Dixie Winston and Ruby Johnson, brother Glen, as well as 45 grandchildren and 92 great-grandchildren!

December 25, 1998Jean Louise Grow, 71, of Wilder, died Wednesday, December 23, 1998 at a Caldwell hospital of natural causes.
Jean was born December 28, 1926 in Boise, Idaho to John and Priscilla Noble. She attended both Kuna and Boise high schools and Brigham Young University, where she studied elementary education. In 1951 she married J. Keith Grow in the Idaho Falls Temple, and together they raised six children.
She worked six years as a stenographer at Continental State Bank in Boise and was a top-selling Avon representative. Her main service was as wife and mother in her home. She served in various church callings throughout her life. She was an avid reader and loved decorating, music, literature, theater, and enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Survivors include: her husband Keith Grow of Wilder; her children and spouses, Blaine and Kelly Grow of Nampa, ID, Wren and Deena Grow of Mesa, AZ., Dana and Todd Jankowski of Riverton, UT. Linda and Lynn Clement of Bountiful, UT, Holly Grow of Salt Lake City, UT; and twenty grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Noble, a brother, David Feagins, and a son, Brent Grow.

, October 26, 1992UCON _ Ernest Peterson Allen, 85, of Tacoma, Wash., formerly of Ucon, died Oct. 20, 1992, at Tacoma after an extended illness.
He was born April 23, 1907, at Ucon, to Thomas "Edwin" and Minnie Alvina Peterson Allen.
On Nov. 14, 1936, he married Lucy May Rasmussen at Seattle. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple on July 7, 1939. They spent their married life in Seattle. He owned and operated Ernie's Fix-it Shop, where his motto was, "Can fix most anything but a broken heart and the break of day." He was a troubleshooter for the Boeing Co. for many years.
He was an active member of the LDS Church. He and his wife did genealogical research.
Survivors include his wife of Seattle; children, Larry D. Allen of Kent, Wash., Nolan H. Allen of Livermore, Calif., and Erna Loreen Allen Mathias of LaGrande, Ore.; three brothers and a sister, Arden Edwin Allen and Vernon Willis Allen, both of Idaho Falls, Lenard Burton Allen of Everett, Wash., and Helen Vera Allen Simmons of Rigby; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, four brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.

January 28, 2001Helen Miskin Allen passed away peace-fully, January 26, 2001,in Salt Lake City, Utah. Helen was born in Ucon, ID St. Patrick's day March 17, 1912, and was affection-ately called "Pat" by her husband's family. She was the 5th child of Edwin Eldridge Miskin and Mildred Eleanor Dodge.
She married Rollin Lyman Allen in the Logan LDS Temple Sept 23, 1931. She raised seven children to adulthood. After her children were grown she received her certificate to teach elementary education from Idaho State Univ. She taught for several years in Firth, ID. Helen loved children very much and enjoyed the opportunity to teach. Throughout her life she was actively involved in the LDS Church. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. However, her life long love was genealogy, which she pursued until her eyesight failed. She was so excited about computers. Very early she made one part of her genealogical effort. Helen loved to correspond with her family and with people all over the world about genealogy. Helen and Rollin fulfilled work missions to Central America and a proselytizing mission to Australia.
Helen is survived by six of her seven children; youngest brother; 50 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, parents, and four older siblings.

ObituaryGraveside services for Edwin Allen, 54, of Sequim will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednsday in Sequim View Cemetery. Bishop Jay Sorenson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate. Mr. Allen died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1993, in Sequim.
He was born Sept. 1, 1938, in Seattle to Rollin and Helen Miskin Allen. He graduated from high school in Blackfoot, Idaho. InOctober 1955, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and worked as a radar communications technician until his discharge in 1957, after which he moved to Seattle in 1965 and worked as first mate for Puget Sound Tug and Barge.
He married Corrine Hebert March 17, 1969, in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. From 1970-73 he worked as an electrician for Puget Sound Shipyard; from 1973-79 he worked as foreman for Seattle Western Structural Steel and Welding. In 1979, he owned and operated a grocery store in Victor, Idaho. The Allens moved to Sequim in 1983, where they purchased Beauty in the Country Hair Salon. Mr. Allen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sequim and the Sequim American Legion.
Survivors include wife Corrine of Sequim; son Wayne Allen of Seattle; daughters Alesa Paquette of Lake Oswego, Ore., Diane Shimmin of Beale, Air Force Base in California, and Merline Bowman of St. Anthony, Idaho; brothers Eric Allen of Salt Lake City, and Arrel Allen of St. Anthony, Idaho; sisters Jamar Wilson of Salt Lake City, Sozel Mumm of Rexburg, Idaho, Vona Smith of Ucon, Idaho, and Roxy Brazzeal of St. George, Utah; and six grandchildren.

March 15, 2012Sozel Allen Mumm, 68, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones Saturday, March 10, 2012, following her battle with cancer.
She was born April 23, 1943, in Driggs, Idaho, to Helen Miskin Allen and Rollin Lyman Allen of Ucon, Idaho. She attended school in Idaho Falls and Blackfoot. She later attended Ricks College, where she studied art.
She married Jerry Lee Mumm on June 5, 1964, in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they raised nine children.
Sozel and Jerry had been serving a mission for the LDS church at Adam-Ondi-Ahman in Missouri at the time she became ill. She was able to return home to say goodbye to family and friends at her home in Hibbard before her passing. Sozel enjoyed her family and friends and dedicated her life to serving others.
She loved little children and served for many years in the Primary. One of her favorite church callings was that as Activity Day leader. She was a talented artist and a gifted seamstress. She was a faithful visiting teacher who made it a habit to go above and beyond what was asked, often spending hours preparing meals, baking bread or just listening.
As her family grew up, she enjoyed getting to know her grandchildren and supporting them in their various activities. She never took herself too seriously and was always spontaneous and fun. Her family and friends will miss her tremendously.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her children, Sozel (Mike) Flake of Tucson, Ariz., Jerry (Karen) Mumm of Orem, Utah, Jacob (Miriam) Mumm of Nacogdoches, Texas, Justin (Becky) Mumm of Rexburg, Heidi (Eric) Anderson of Rexburg, John (Karen) Mumm of Syracuse, Utah, Jesse (Heather) Mumm of Soldotna, Alaska, Jedd (Katie) Mumm of Driggs and Laura Ann Mumm of Provo, Utah; 30 grandchildren; and her siblings, Jamar Wilson, Arrel Allen, Eric Allen and Roxy Brazzeal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollin Lyman Allen and Helen Miskin Allen; her brother, Monty; and sister, Vona.

November 27, 1998Vernon "Bonnie" Willis Allen, 81, died Nov. 26, 1998, in Idaho Falls of cancer.
He was born Dec. 4, 1917, to Thomas Edwin Allen and Minnie Alvina Peterson in Ucon, Idaho. He attended Ucon High School and received a degree from Idaho State University in welding. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army and achieved the rank of staff sergeant.
On Dec. 4, 1950, he married Alice Christine Chamberlain in Malad, Idaho. He was employed as a welder by the city of Idaho Falls for 30 years.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles Lodge.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and listening to Western music tapes. He also enjoyed his two favorite Golden Retrievers.
Survivors include his wife, Alice of Idaho Falls; his children, Tamara N. Hopla (husband, Jim), and Thomas Vernon Allen (wife, Kathy), both of Idaho Falls; a brother, Lenard Burton Allen of Washington; a sister, Helen Vera Allen of Vernal, Utah; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers.
