September 13, 2007Helen Marie Elmer, age 78, of Jane Lew, died Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at Rosewood Extended Care in Grafton. She was born November 6, 1928, in Jane Lew, a daughter of the late Warren L. and Ruth Summers Elmer.
She is survived by one brother, James E. Elmer and wife Delma of Jane Lew; two nieces, Susan G. Silski and husband Timothy of Fairmont, and Linda J. Elmer of Fairmont; two nephews, Warren L. Elmer and wife Rhonda of Elkins, and James Christopher (Chris) Elmer and wife Kristen of Bunker Hill; and six great nieces and nephews.
She taught school for the Lewis County Board of Education for forty-three years. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa and the Fairview United Methodist Church at Jane Lew where she played the piano for many years.
Burial followed in the Lorentz Cemetery at Lorentz.
Unknown SourceMrs. Edna Richardson, age 96, passed away September 26, 2009. She was born March 24, 1913 in Knox Hill, Florida to Murray and Anna Belle Ray Elmer. Mrs. Richardson was Presbyterian by faith and a member of Euchee Valley Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elbert Richardson; one son, Elwood Richardson; and one brother, Ray Elmer.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by her son, Murray Richardson and wife Laverne of Macclenny, Florida; two daughters, Darlene Coverdale and husband Jack of Ft. Pierce, Florida and Gloria Rollo and husband Richard of Milton, Florida; daughter-in-law, Laverne Richardson; eight grandchildren, Jimmy Richardson of DeFuniak Springs, Steve Richardson of DeFuniak Springs, Jennifer O'Brian of Orange Park, Florida, Doug Richardson of Macclenney, Florida, Terri Hamilton, Lisa Preston and Chris Walters of Milton, Florida and Jack Coverdale, Jr. of Katy, Texas; also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Richardson was born in Mossy Head, Fla., and was a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs.

February 20, 2001EAST ORLEANS - Gertrude "Marsha" (Herrick) Howe 98, died Feb. 11 at her home. She was the wife of Arthur A. Howe, who died in 1972.
Mrs. Howe was born and raised in Canajoharie, N.Y. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1924 with a major in art. She continued her studies at Pratt Institute, the Art Students League in New York and in Provincetown.
After her marriage, Mrs. Howe moved to Westchester County, N.Y., where she was an illustrator and designer of book jackets for several New York publishers. She illustrated many children's books, often using her three daughters as models.
In 1939 her family began coming to Orleans during the summer, and they moved there permanently in 1967 from Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. While still in New York she studied printmaking and later began teaching calligraphy, printmaking and woodcutting at her Orleans studio, at Castle Hill Center for the Arts, Cape Cod Conservatory of Art and Music in Barnstable and at Nauset Adult Education in Orleans. She was a founder of Printmakers of Cape Cod, and was also a member of many art associations on Cape Cod and in New England and New York. Her work has been shown in many galleries in those regions.
Surviving are three daughters, Priscilla H. Johnson, Barbara H. Tucker and Deborah H. Pashley; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

January 5, 2007:Edward B. Greene, died December 31st at his home at 6 Merry Hill Rd., Poughkeepsie. He was 101 years old.
Mr. Greene graduated from Harvard, Class of '26, returned for one year of graduate study and then studied with Nadia Boulanger in Paris. He was professor of music at Wellesley College, Princeton and Brown Universities before moving to Poughkeepsie in 1958 to become organist and choir master at the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Greene was accompanist for the Camerata Chorale for twenty years. In 1988 the Chorale premiered his composition "The Land Beyond."
Besides his wife, Elizabeth, Mr. Greene is survived by a son, a daughter, two step-daughters, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
In 1991 the Camerata Chorale established the Edward B. Greene Music Education Scholarship which is awarded to a local graduating high school senior.

Mrs. Weber, who died Oct. 25 in Glenlora Nursing Home, Chester, graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1926.
She was a member of the Thanatopsis Book Club.
Born in Passaic, she moved to Mendham in 1982.

September 1, 2002PAUL LAMBERT RICHARDS, 97, of the Tockwotton Home, East Street, Providence, and formerly of Barrington, a college professor and librarian before retiring, died Thursday in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence.
He was the husband of Virginia Bartlett; they had been been married for 68 years. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Lt. Col. John Bion Richards and the late Winifred (Cornell) Richards, he had spent his youth in Fall River, and later had lived in New York City and Painesville, Ohio, before settling in Barrington, where he had lived for 46 years.
He had attended the former Princeton Prepatory School and was a 1930 graduate of Harvard University, where he received a PhD. He later studied at Case Western Reserve, in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received a Master of Library Science degree in 1955.
Mr. Richards had worked at Brown University, as chief of circulation for the university library system, from 1955 until he retired in 1971. He previously had served for 15 years as head of the modern language department at Lake Erie College, in Painesville, Ohio, and for 5 years as a professor of French and Italian at Smith College, in Northampton, Mass.
He was a member of the Honors Committee and the Speakers Committee at Brown.
An Air Force veteran, he served during World War II, working in the accounts-payable department at the Army Exchange in New York City from 1943 to 1945.
Mr. Richards was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, in Barrington, where he was a member of the vestry.
Besides his wife, he leaves many nieces and nephews.
Andrew was school trustee, City Councilman Mayor and Bishop. Ordained a se
venty and became a member of the 62nd quorum. In 1901 was called and ordained High Priest and Bishop in 1901.

August 29, 2004ST. GEORGE - Leatha Hansen Baur, 88, died Thursday, August 26, 2004 in St. George.
She was born June 23, 1916 in Hyrum, Utah, to Reuben and Lauretta Hansen.
Leatha married Roger Baur on June 10, 1937 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Leatha held many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the community. She was loved by all who knew her. She was truly our angel on earth.
Surviving are four children, Gary (Maxine) Baur, Clair (Cleo) Baur, and Linda (Jerry) Poulter, all of Ogden; Marilyn Olson, St. George; her son-in-law, Larry (Mary) Allen, Ogden; five foster children, Geraldine, Yvonne, Shirley, Merlinda, and Martha; 27 grandchildren, 58 great- grandchildren and six great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Baur, her daughter Sharon Allen, her son-in- law, Fay Olson, two grandchildren, Jeannie Allen, and Taylor Toone.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
Find-a-GraveKAYSVILLE � Donald Hill passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Manor Care nursing facility in South Ogden after a 16-year battle with a very rare disease.
He was born May 19, 1927 in Malad, Idaho to William Martin Hill and Ruth Abigail Sparks. He grew up on a farm in Holbrook, Idaho, the fourth of eight children.
He graduated from Malad High School in 1945 and was immediately drafted into the Army where he spent a year training. The following year he spent serving a mission in Virginia and North Carolina.
He married the love of his life, Carol Hansen on December 15, 1950 in the Logan, LDS Temple.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as ward clerk, Sunday School president, teacher, extraction worker and many other callings.
He worked at Hill Air Force Base for 31 years, including 12 years inspecting airplanes and 19 years in Supply.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Ruby Mackey and Leola Eddards; and two brothers: Frank and Chester Hill.
Surviving are his three daughters: LuAnn Nance, of Holbrook, ID, Gayle Landeen (Daniel), of Clarkston, WA, and Janet Gregory (Harold), of Kaysville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
