Mrs. Lillian Zoe Webber, 79, of Ripplelon Rd., died Saturday in Utica after a long illness. A native of Fort Atkinson, Wis., she had lived in Cazenovia since childhood.

Surviving are her husband, N. Luther Webber of Cazenovia, a daughter, Mrs. Harold Greene of Ohio, six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Philip Stoker of Cazenovia and Mrs. Harry Hayes of Red Creek and three brothers Thaddeus Barrett of Martville, Fred Barrett of Cazenovia and Homer Barrett of Jacks Reef.

Mrs. Webber was a member of Cazenovia Village Baptist Church and of the Owaghena Grange.

Dolly Loyster Barrett, 101, formerly of Cazenovia and Martville resident, died Monday at Cayuga County Nursing Home, Auburn.

Surviving are daughters Priscilla B. Scott of Orangeburg, Vivian B. Snyder of Cazenovia and May B. Hermann of Manlius; a son, Ford L. Barrett of Hannibal; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Frances Chapman Barrett, 96, formerly of New Woodstock,died Friday at Stonehedge Nursing Home, Chittenango.

A life resident of the New Woodstock area, she was a member of New Woodstock Methodist Church and the Number Nine Sewing Circle.

Her husband, Frederick M., died in 1965.

Survivors: Two daughters, Jean Barrett-Yorton and Ruth Barrett-Lucas, both of Cazenovia; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.

Services for Homer B. Barrett, 63, of Memphis RD 1, who died yesterday in St. Joseph's Hospital of injuries suffered in an automobile accident will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Watson Funeral Home, Central Square, the Rev. Milton Christian officiating. Burial will be in New Woodstock cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight and tomorrow afternoon and night at their convenience.

He was an employee of the Onondaga County Highway Department, working as a heavy equipment operator. He had also worked on many construction projects in Central New York. He was a native of Cazenovia and had lived for the past three years in Memphis. At one time he had lived in Central Square, Cicero and Baldwinsville. He was a member of the Memphis Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jeannette Barrett; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Ladd of CentralSquare; three sons, Grant of Auburn, Ellsworth of Central Square and Dean of Lompoc, Calif.; two brothers, Thaddeus of Martville and Frederick of Cazenovia; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Stoker of Cazenovia and Mrs. Laura Hayes of Red Creek; two stepsons; five step daughters and seven grandchildren.

Private rites for Mrs. Mary Edgcomb Watson of 152 South Midler Avenue, who died Saturday after a long illness, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Welter Funeral Home. The body will be taken to Rochester for cremation. Mrs. Watson, 79, was the widow of Frank Watson.

Fred Watson Barrett, New York, born veteran Ozarks attorney, died in Springfield Monday morning after a two-day illness probably resulting from a heart ailment. Mr. Barrett lived in Ozark 19 years ago, and earlier in Billings, Republic and Sparta where he taught school for several years. In Ozark, Mr. Barrett practiced law with Judge Tom T. Moore, and the present Judge Tom R. Moore. From 1906 to 1912 he was Christian County prosecuting attorney.

He is survived by his second wife, Mrs. Vivian Barrett, a son, Paul of Springfield, and a daughter, Mrs. Lyle Davis, of Lincoln, NE, and four brothers.


Frances A. Lang

Frances A. Barrett, 43, died in a Great Bend, Kansas, hospital July 19. She had lived in Billings five years before moving to Great Bend last March.

Survivors include her husband, Loren, of the home; two sons, Dwayne and R. Gene Rogers of Great Bend; one sister, Mrs. Ila Puyear of Greensburg, Kan.; her mother, Mrs. Mary Lang, also of Greensburg and two grandchildren.

She was a member of the Billings Baptist church and the Royal Neighbors Lodge.

Charley Barrett, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burden Barrett was born at Ozark, MO, Nov. 11, 1884 and departed this life Saturday, Oct. 17 at the age of 58 years.

He was married to Lula Reynolds, April 9, 1905 and to this union were born four children, Burl of Neosho, George of Kansas City, Mrs. Angie Tiede and Mrs. Margaret Taylor both of Springfield.

Other survivors besides the wife and children are two brothers, Frank of Billings and Harry of Kansas City and nine grandchildren.

Smiley F. Tiede, 86, Republic, died at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's Regional Health Center.

He was owner and operator of Smiley's Refrigerator before retirement and was a longtime resident of Republic. He is survived by his wife, Lena; two daughters, Anna Lou Whitehead, Branson and Bonnie Lee Eggers, Springfield; three brothers, Charlie of Crane, Bill and Louie, both of Marionville; a sister, Fanie Denny, Springfield; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

MARGUERIETE L. PODESTA Margueriete L. Podesta, 85, of Kansas City, KS, died Tuesday, October 5, 1999, at her home.

Margueriete was born April 18, 1914, in Billings, MO, the daughter of Charles B. and Lulia M. Barrett. She had owned a driving school in San Diego, CA, and had been a realtor in Kansas City with the Hart Realtors of Independence, MO. Margueriete owned and operated the Little Bavarian dinner theatre in Branson, MO, with her family. She was a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen J. Podesta.

Margueriete is survived by her son, Hugh J. Taylor, and his wife, Marilyn, of Kansas City, KS; two grandchildren, Mark J. Taylor and his wife, Cheri, Lawrence, KS, Ann M. Horton, Liberty, MO; and four great-grandchildren. (Arrangements: Porter Funeral Home)

Stephen J. Podesta, 65, Hollister, Mo., formerly of Independence, died Dec. 25, 1994, at his stepson's home in Kansas City, Kan

Mr. Podesta was born in Ford City and lived in San Diego and Abilene, Texas, before moving to Independence in the 1960s. He moved to Hollister in 1974.

He was a partner in the Taylor Real Estate and Construction Co. in Branson before he retired. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Hollister.

Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Podesta of the home; a stepson, Hugh J. Taylor, Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Grace Slavka and Pauline Kamody of Ford City; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
