51683. Mina J. Talbot

EDMESTON - Mrs. Mina J. Weeks, died December 27th in the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Wilson. She had suffered a stroke Sunday while attending church services. Born here, she was the daughter of J. W. Talbot and Mary (Bean) Talbot. In 1891, she was married to Edward Weeks and they later moved to Little Falls, returning in 1936. Mr. Weeks died in 1937. Her daughter, two aunts and several cousins survive.


51687. Jessie Talbot

Burlington Flats - Mrs. Jessie Eaton, 86, of Burlington Flats, died unexpectantly October 23, at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.

Burial will be in Edmeston cemetery.

Mrs. Eaton was born April 21, 1879 in Edmeston, daughter of Edgar and Rose (Coleman) Talbot. She was the widow of Louis Eaton who died about seven years ago. She had lived for 40 years in Oneida and for the past two years with her son in the town of Exeter. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Oneida and the Kings Daughters of Oneida.

She is survived by her son, Percy Butler, of Burlington Flats; a brother, Dorr Talbot of Cooperstown; six grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren anmd one great great grandchildren.


Bessie May Bunn

Cooperstown - Mrs. Dorr Talbot, 72, of Hartwick Seminary died at her home on Monday morning.

Burial will be in Edmeston Cemetery.

She was born on Jan. 30, 1889 in Oaksville, a daughter of William and Jennie (Adams) Bunn. A member of Hartwick Seminary Grange, she lived in the area all her life.

Surviving are her husband, one sister, Mrs. Florence O'Brien, Oaksville; five nephews and several grand nephews and nieces.


51690. Claude L. Talbot

Hartwick - Claude L. Talbot, 72, died suddenly of a heart attack at 10:
30 a.m. yesterday while surveying his woodlot in the Potter Hill district of the town of New Lisbon.
Dr. Steffle Baker, Hartwick acting as coroner's physician, gave a verdict of death from natural causes.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thurday in the First Baptist Church of Hartwick, with the Rev. Walter A. Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hartwick cemetery.
Mr. Talbot was born Jan. 19, 1885, son of Jerome and Mary Etta (House) Talbot. He married Lizzie Thayer Oct. 23. 1902 at Welcome, Town of New Lisbon. She died Sept. 2, 1949. He was a farmer most of his life, and also followed the trade of butcher and sheep sheering.
For the past 21 years, he had been a resident of Hartwick. Previously he had lived in Edmeston and New Lisbon townships. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartwick.
Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Luther Zinninger, West Burlington and Mrs. Eugene Ward, Hartwick; six grandchildren; one great grandchild and a number of cousins.


Lizzie M. Thayer

Hartwick - Mrs. Lizzie Thayer Talbot died at her home on West Main S
t. at 10 a.m. yesterday.
Funeral services will be held at the Hartwick Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. R. E. Austin, retired Laurens Methodist pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Hartwick cemetery.
Mrs, Talkbot was born Sept. 12, 1880, in the town of New Lisbon, daughter of Harlow and Mary (Thayer) Thayer. She was married to Claude L. Talbot of New Lisbon Oct. 29, 1902. She had been a resident of Hartwick for 14 years.
Mrs. Talbot's early life was spent in Cooperstown, where she attended grade school later attending and graduating from Hartwick Seminary, class of 1901. She was amember of Hartwick Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Luther Zinninger, West Burlington, and Mrs. Eugene Ward, Clinton, five grandchildren, Virgil and William Zinninger, Mrs. Virginia Slater, Miss Mary and Grant Ward.; an aunt, Mrs. Addie Thayer, Ballston Spa and an uncle Lewis Thayer, Cooperstown.


Charles H. Price

Funeral services for Charles H. Price were held at the Nevelle Funeral parlors at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon.  The Rev. R. E. Austin officiated.  Burial was made in the family plot at Westville.

Mr. Price died of a shock and complications at the home of his son, Glenn, with whom he had spent the last four years.  He was born December 16, 1856, at Edmeston.  A carpenter by trade, he later took up farming.

His first wife, Rose Anna Talbot, died June 16, 1913 and he married Mrs. Ellen A. Snyder, January 18, 1919.  She died February 8, 1927.  For the past few years, Mr. Price has resided with his sons, Clifton and Glenn.  Surviving are the two sons, four grandchildren, one brother of Edmeston and a niece and nephew.  Those from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Grover Talbot of Edmeston, Mr. and Mrs. Delmer L. Snyder of Schenectady and George A. Snyder of Middlefield.


51691. Clifton Charles Price

Milford - Clifton Price, 79, of Westville Road, died Saturday, January 13 at his home after a brief illness.

Burial will be at a later date in the Westville cemetery.

He was born Feb. 17, 1882, at Edmeston, the son of Charles and Rise (Talbot) Price. He married Belle Snyder, October 10, 1900.

Mr. Price was a member of the Milford Lodge IOOF and the Milford Methodist Church.

Surviving besides his wife are several nieces and nephews.


Katie Belle Snyder

Milford - Mrs. Belle Price, 88, of Cooperstown RD died at Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, on Saturday, January 1.

Burial will be in the Westville cemetery.

Mrs. Price was born November 2, 1883 in the town of Westford, the daughter of Austin and Ellen Herdman Snyder. She married Clifton Price on October 10, 1900. He died January 13, 1962.

She was a member of the Westville Methodist Church.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, and one cousin.


51692. Glenn Grover Price

Cherry Valley - Glenn Price, 69, a resident of Pleasant Brook, died in Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, Tuesday, he has been a patient there for eight days.

Burial will be in Westville cemetery.

Mr. Price was born at Edmeston, March 17, 1885, a son of Charles and Rose (Talbot) Price. He had been a farmer most of his life and lved near Pleasant Brook more than 20 years.

He is survived by two sons, George of Pleasant Brook and Roy of Durham, N.C.; two daughters, Mrs. Leon Dornburgh of Pleasant Brook and Mrs. Mildred Guernsey of Cobleskill; one brother, Clifton Price of Milford, and four grandchildren.


Bertha Mae Kilts

Milford - Mrs Bertha Mae Price, 74, had a nice Christmas, She left her 60 acre chicken farm two miles north of Milford and drove to the of her daughter, Mrs. Clifford Ferris.

About  8 p.m. she got into her car and drove away to call at C. P. McCollister home in Westville. Greetings and presents were exchanged, and some time around 10 p.m. the 74 year old woman again got into her car for the drive back to her farm.

At 11:45 p.m., Walter Klugh of Delphi RD 2 was driving along route 183, about two miles northwest of Milford. He saw a car stopped on the highway with lights out and halted to investigate. Inside the car he saw the body of  Mrs. Price slumped behind the wheel. He notified Oneonta State Police, and they summoned Dr. Mahlon C. Halleck of Worcester, a coroner. Dr. Halleck said the woman died of a corunary occlusion. That she appearantly felt the attack coming on, stopped her car and turned off the lights. She was within a mile of her farm, when her allotted time ran out.

Mrs. Price was born Feb. 21, 1880, in the town of Middlfield, daughter of Lucius and Beette (Pratt) Kilts, and had lived in the Middlefield-Milford section all her life. Besides her daughter she is survived by a son, LeRoy Price of Durham, N.C.


29852. Leona Alie Talbot

Edmeston, Mrs Leona Perkins, 91, died March 7, at the home of her son, Howard P. Talbot, West street, after a ten year illness.

Burial will be later this year in Brick House Cemetery.

Mrs. Perkins was born June 11, 1866 in the town of Edmeston, daughter of Jacob and Anna Talbot. She was married to Herbert D. Perkins, March 31, 1880. He died Nov. 4, 1907.

Besides her son she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Earl Chase, Garrettsville; Mrs. Minnie Tyler, Phoenix Mills; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Second Baptist Church and a former member of Whatron Valley Grange.


51693. Mary A. Perkins

Garrattsville - Mrs. Mary A. Chase, 77, died August 23 at her home followng an illness of several years.

Burial will be in Butternut Valley Cemetery, Burlington.

Mrs. Chase was born Feb. 1, 1881 in the Town of Edmeston, a daughter of Hernert and Leona (Talbot) Perkins. She was married to Earl F. Chase on Sept. 20, 1899 in New Berlin.

She has lived in a home north of Garrattsville for 52 years. She attended the Brick Schoolhouse at Burlington and Westy Burlington District Schools.

Surviving besides her husband are on adopted daughter, Mrs. Earl Dockstader, Burlingon; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Tyler, Cooperstown; and one brother, Howard P. Talbot, Edmeston.


Earl Franklin Chase

Earl Franklin Chase, aged 92, of Burlington Flats, died May 10 at the Chateau, Sharon Springs. Mr. Chase was born in North Edmeston, March 5, 1878, the son of Frank and Amanda Chase. He married Mary Perkins, September 20, 1889, She died August 23, 1958.

He was a retired farmer.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Mabel) Dockstader of Fly Creek, and one sister, Miss Elsie Chase of Burlington Green.


51697. Howard Perkins Talbot

s. Israel Talbot have executed papers necessary for the adoption of Howard Perkins. The young man will be known as Howard Perkins Talbot."


29853. Franklin A. Adkins

Adkins, F. A. was born in Otsego county, June 5, 1851. He followed railroa
ding for twenty years on the New York Central, holding every position from brakeman to conductor. Six years ago he purchased the Junction House at Richfield Junction, and has since conducted it with great success. In 1878 he married Emma Matteson, by whom he has three children: Frank, Linden and Raymond. Mr. Adkins's, Emery Adkins, was for years connected with the hotel business in this county, being at one time proprietor of the old Sherman House in Utica. His mother, Anna (Talbot) Adkins, is still living and resides in Chicago. Mr. Adkins has a model little hotel, admirably conducted and capable of accommodating twenty guests. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 581.
